This is a pretty good book if you are looking for something with lots of relationship drama and about some rich kids who live in London. It does give slight gossip girl vibes, so if you are a fan of that show then I am sure you will enjoy this book. However for me, this book was repetitive and not really written very well. The author describes their outfits in immense detail which I find kind of tacky. Magnolia is made out to be a perfect beautiful princess who can do no wrong, which I also find kind of boring. I wish Magnolia’s flaws were executed better as she is just as messed up as the other kids in this book.

This is so toxic and I ate it up anyway, literally could not put this down and stayed up way too late to get to the last page. I enjoyed this more than I thought I would and do recommend if you’re looking for something easy and fun to read that will also pull on your heart strings and just cause you general frustration.
Magnolia and BJ are so bloody messy, like please for the love of everything go and see a therapist! Honestly both of them but especially BJ. I can see the immense love between them and all the history, and yeah they are happiest together and before IT they were probably fantastic. But also wtf now! Magnolia isn’t perfect, she’s not innocent and she has her fair share of victims with her pathological need to be the Sun and loved by all. But BJ is so much worse and I’m shocked I even like him half as much as I do. How could he? And then how could he continue to? He needs rehab, and intense 3 times a week minimum therapy. Also couples therapy, please. Anyway, toxic and unhealthy and emotionally damaging doesn’t begin to describe these two but somehow I still want them to be together in the end. Even though… there are better options.
Tom, oh Tom!! I loved him and my heart aches for him. Like you know it’s coming but still! He was so good, and honestly he definitely will make the perfect man for someone (me, I want him, even if he is blonde). The way he was with Magnolia literally had me so soft! So caring, respectful, attentive and just mature. His age difference to the rest of them is very clear and it’s so hot honestly.
This group is just so messy but there’s also so much love there. A found family through and through, they raised each other and are definitely each other’s real family. All the characters are so fascinating. I love Henry, he’s the best friend for real and I want him to be happy. Bridget is fantastic, she’s so funny and I already want her to have a book too. Julian was there for like 2 pages and I already love him. So ready for more of him in Daisy’s book. Very intrigued by Christian, excited and scared for Daisy because of everything in this book. I know it’s going to cause me pain. My heart hurt for him in this and he was very much not wrong in the things he (and Bridget) said to Magnolia. Lily seems like the coolest mum. I liked Jonah and Taura was also interesting, so it’ll be cool to see where that love triangle goes. The P’s… well.
Ok spoilers!! But that ending! Wtf. Also I knew there was something off about her but I never expected that. I really thought it was the Sadie mentioned but maybe I read it wrong. Also just wtf BJ, I thought he was drugged or something but then he’s just like he wanted it and so he did it. And then regretted it after… Ugh just why! His actions just drove me crazy.
Also, this is irrelevant but I find it really funny; I went to the university Magnolia did and… they don’t do that degree, like they just don’t do that at all lol. Also again, I read a 1 star review and I have to say I agreed with all the points but I am also still going to give this 4 stars and leave it there before I think too hard about it.

I LOVE THIS BOOK! i felt as though i was in a different world reading it. granted, Magnolia and BJ’s relationship is nothing to love or to wish for because us was toxic af but i absolutely loved this story and the ending!!! call me oblivious but i didn’t see that coming.
The only reason this isn’t 5 stars is because it was starting to get a bit repetitive and back and fourth but i still loved it and can not wait to continue the series

i read this book with a constant tight pain in my chest, my heart literally aching! i became attached to these characters so quickly, jessa’s writing is magic! ridiculously addictive. the thought behind all the characters was so well thought out from the little details of all their outsides to all the personality traits and mannerisms. they all felt so real to me. this whole world jessa has created is just incredible.
the banter in this book was unmatched, i was literally laughing at out loud! i literally fell for every man in this book it seems, all such smooth mf’s and so charming!
at times i did want to bump their heads together and scream at them to just be together. it was all quite toxic but honestly, i love them all so much!! my heart broke a million times for them, but it was done so beautifully. the ending.. i just didn’t expect it at all. i’m excited to read more books in this universe and carry on reading about their journey. i’m hoping for a happily ever after in the end, because i’m such a hopeless romantic at heart.

Even their toxicity. Even the will they? Won’t they? Even the love triangle. And I’m absolutely over the moon that the end wasn’t predictable.
How is this Jessa’s debut? She’s a firecracker of an author, is what she is!
The characters are perfection!
Even in their incredibly annoying imperfection! Boohoo rich boy and girl fighting off their codependency while drinking, shopping, sexing and doing drugs. How could I possible care about them? How? Because Jessa is amazing! And I hate her for it. Kidding. I loved hating those characters and their ridiculous choices. Every single second of it!
And that ending? Yes! Yes! Yes!
The twist wasn’t shocking because I kind of had an inkling… But the retelling of it was pretty freaking shocking and cruel and perfect. Because we humans are both good and evil, right?
Yes, onto my next book from Mrs Hastings!
