Paul Darrow’s career has encompassed theatre, television and film. Famed for his portrayal of Kerr Avon, a ruthless and calculating computer expert, in Terry Nation’s science fiction series Blake’s 7, Darrow has also appeared in Coronation Street, Emergency Ward 10 and many other productions – including two guest appearances in Doctor Who. Populated by familiar names and productions, You’re Him, Aren’t You? is Paul’s own story of his life and career. It tells of his association with Blake’s 7 – how he was cast, his experiences of making the show, what has happened since and his memories of Terry Nation, the cast and the crew. It also tells of his childhood, his time playing Elvis Presley and his near miss with James Bond. An extended audio reading, with new chapters written by Paul since the publication of the original book. Paul Darrow returned to the role of Kerr Avon in Blake’s 7 for two series of new full-cast audios with Big Finish Productions. CAST: Paul Darrow (reader).

Brilliantly read by the author Who alas is no longer with us. A wonderful tale of a jobbing actor who doesn’t take themselves seriously and a wonderful Memoir of the awesomeness that is Blakes 7

The CD audio arrived no trouble at all. I haven’t listened to the CD yet. I’ve watched Darrow on YouTube clips and he’s really entertaining. I’ve seen him on Whodunnit dressed as a woman, so hilarious. He was an underrated actor, you could see a lot of potential from him. I admire him for being courageous and carrying on with life through adversity, he is sorely missed, he’ll always be remembered. Saw him on BBC Pointless game show, he was so intelligent. I loved his mischievous Avon look, he had a beautiful spoken voice, versatile and so talented. May his memories be a blessing.

Really enjoyed this autobiography by Paul Darrow. I listened to it in stages as it’s spoken over 6 discs. Very amusing in parts. Will definitely listen to it again. Such a gorgeous voice along the lines of Alan Baddel or even Richard Burton. Paul touches on the often hard and uncertain world of an actor but he also displays an overriding enjoyment of his world and the people he’s met during his long career.
