Take Out the Jocks: A feminist revenge comedy
£7.60
Ever wondered what would happen if the people afraid to go out at night were young men, not young women?
Kate, Carly, and Seyram, friends since childhood, are outraged by the acquittal of a local rapist and frustrated at the lack of progress with the #MeToo movement in their conservative community. They decide to reverse gender freedoms by targeting the town’s jocks in a series of ever-more brazen attacks. On the case are local police, who can’t conceive that middle-aged moms could be capable of such things. Take Out the Jocks is a dark comedy of female vengeance that blows open literally a small American town.

I laughed out loud! Congratulations to the (white male) author who has created a finely crafted balance between the obvious satirical extremism of the key characters with the important core messages. How enticing to imagine, or even anticipate, a time where women (and other vulnerable people) can be free of anxiety and fear when going about their lives?
