Just like the first tome, its an absolute pleasure to have it, beautiful illustrations, great quality and came in perfect condition. 11/10 in my book.

After the initial hassle it took to get this, and the first one being damaged in shipping, this book is a beautiful testament to the love and care the devs put into their worldbuilding. I love FFXIV, and this book really just reminds me of so many happy memories playing through with my friends.

This is a wonderful companion to the FFXIV games. In this book, you’ll find a brief story for every character, landmark and weapon, which expands on what is available in the game itself – the world building is phenomenal. The images are slightly blurry, but this is primarily due to the style of paper used, which has been dyed to resemble a tome you might find in game.

The book also covers the story from the end of Heavensward to the end of Stormblood. Reading the summary allowed me to join the events in game together – sometimes, I miss out on the finer details just because there’s so much to see and absorb!

It’s a fascinating read if you’re a fan of the series and I would strongly recommend purchasing this and the previous encyclopaedia if you want to understand the story, politics and history of Eorzea in full.

Absolutely stunning books, highly recommend for XIV superfans. Will take a long time to read as the font is very small. Amazing artwork and lore within the books. In game item code is found in the back couple of pages.

Good price on Amazon too! So glad I got them both.

Book arrived day of release, good quality. Still to try item code for in-game hat, but assume it’s okay.

Lots of info of Stormblood info setting inside. Still to read, but lots of love.

My only gripe would be at a glance is the font is small (size 8 or 9 think) to cram in so much text into the book, so not the best for those with poor eyesight.

Other than that disappointed the Warrior of Light is described as male in the text when referenced. While male hyurs do make up the most created characters, its the default option and most of these dlmt get far in game. According to the game’s census, when you look at characters active at max LVL female Miqo’te and female Au Ra completely dominate the number of active characters, male hyur isn’t even a close third. The majority of people play a female Warrior of Light – there’s a reason people joke FF14 is a cat/dragon-girl simulator.

So it’s thats not a big issue, its not going to ruin reading about the lore which is what the book is about, but it would have been nice if the writers had made WOL’s sex ambiguous rather than canonise her/him as male in the encylopedia when so many of the player base do not see Derplander as their canon WOL.
