This book is the first book I’ve finished in 11 years. Simply because I never have the concentration to focus on a book from start to finish and get bored easily. It had me hooked. I read it in the morning, at work, on my lunch, in bed. I took it everywhere. It’s funny, witty, sad and thought provoking. If you’re a cat owner you’ll relate a lot to it. Ironic how other people saw me reading and asked what it’s about I said “it’s about a lady, who has a cat, and it has deeper messages in about life” and they say, “is it just about cats then?” “I can’t stand cats.” It’s not just about cats. It’s about life, and it’s bloody brilliant.

This is the first book I have read by Dawn o Porter, it was funny, sad and a bit different to my usual books I go for, but I really enjoyed it and will give another of her books a go .

Beautiful, compelling surprising and unpredictable (mostly).

I consumed this in a couple of days, it was a delight to read. Brought tears to my eyes, made me laugh out loud, gave me food for thought and was a total surprise.

Loved it. If you are looking for an easy but thought provoking read with great characters and brilliant insight into the human connection, then this is the book for you.

While some of the sentiments expressed towards the various animals in this novel are wacky and totally OTT you are left feeling that these “animal lovers’”are essentially good people. The themes of love, loss and friendship compete with those of greed, betrayal and abuse but ultimately win. It’s a feel good novel that I would recommend to anyone but especially cat lovers.

Read this entire book on a flight to Portugal. It’s really funny and quirky so the time flew by. Crazy cat people will feel completely sane after reading this.

It’s an enjoyable easy-read, with likeable characters, and humour and warmth enveloping the emotional turmoil at the centre of the story. It is what it is, and I enjoyed it for that

An unusual but interesting plot which gives the reader a warm feeling as it progresses. The characters are well defined and all contribute to the vindictiveness of the narrative.

I thought that this was going to be a comedy and although it is there are some serious scenes and themes. Death, depression, grief and suicide are all themes of this very well written book. Dawn O’Porter’s style is very up front and sex does feature in an explicit way.
Raced through it, I really enjoyed it.
