Purity: A Friends-to-Lovers College Romance

£0.90

What happens when a shy virgin raised in purity culture asks her gorgeous, player best friend to take her V-card?

I’ve been in love with Cole Walker since the first day he walked into class and sat beside me. Who could blame me? Six foot five, gorgeous, and a sweetheart to boot. He’s charming enough to get any girl he wants.

The plan was to make him fall in love with me, get married, and give him all my firsts.

Too bad he’s never once looked at me that way. I don’t know how to flirt, and I’ve been stuck in the friend-zone for years.

I’m 21 now. And this summer, I’m going to ask him to take my V-card with no strings attached.

But when I tell Cole my request, his reaction is not what I expect. He’s furious and over-the-top protective. He won’t touch me, but apparently no one else can either. It doesn’t make any sense.

Until we share a kiss that makes the world stand still, and I begin to wonder…maybe I’ve misread him all along.

REVIEWS

“I devoured this book! The premise, the steam, the swoons—all of it is pitch-perfect. For those of us who’ve been in Livvy’s shoes, Purity is as healing as it is delicious.” — Sierra Simone, USA Today bestselling author of Priest

“A dazzling, and perfectly over-the-top romance book that tackles sexual liberation. Every moment in Purity was romance perfection. Kudos to Skylar Mason for writing such a brave, yet fun novel.” – Carla, The Lit Buzz

Not sure I would be into the purity culture backdrop of this book, but this enemies to lovers is really lovely. I liked Cole and Livvy’s dynamic and I appreciate the way the author integrated sex. I’m glad this didn’t end in a more stereotypical fashion. Nice and fast read.

Loved it. Easy to read, great story line, interesting purity element and a filthy read. Absolutely loved it and I highly recommend.

OH MY GOD. this book arrived at like 6pm yesterday and I have just finished it now. Warning: don’t read this in your college class like I stupidly did this book is DESCRIPTIVE and I loved it so much. Honestly, the romance between the two I was almost crushed at the end I love them so much. I will be buying the rest of the series because oh my. I love how it shows you can believe in Christianity without having to follow all their beliefs and it’s very freeing to see that point of view. 5/5 stars in my book!! also its reallllly spicy which is always a plus!!

Purity, depending on your religious views, could be contentious for some. Skyler does a fantastic job of separating religion from purity culture when it comes to the character’s views. (Livvy believes purity culture is toxic, but religion itself is not portrayed in a negative way).

Having grown up in it myself, I found Livvy to be a sympathetic character, and I could definitely relate to many of her thoughts and choices.

Livvy, having decided she no longer wishes to be a part of purity culture, she decides to rebel, giving herself a list of things to do before the summer ends. She enlists her best friend to help her, and they go through plenty together by the end.

I do agree with another reviewer that it could have done with more…there’s one small scene with her dad, but (unless I’m forgetting) the mom never makes an appearance. A bit more of struggle/coming to terms with parents would have been nice to see, along with why Livvy had a change of heart regarding her beliefs.

Besides that very small complaint, I enjoyed reading this and would happily recommend it. Make sure to check out the bonus epilogue that’s available!

I loved this story. Could not put the book down. I only thing that got on my nerve or a pet peeve along with other books I have is the always use “shiver down my spine”, I wish they could use a different alternative. (but that my own personal opinion), but all in all, great story.

Not religious so hard to get my head around the waiting around for marriage to lose the virginity but it was still a good short sexy read with a touch of true love and happy ever after
