Bought for a horror film fan, did not disappoint. The film posters taking up a whole page are particularly pretty. A great way for you to analyse and see for yourself the development of horror film art throughout the last century or so!

A superb book featuring horror film posters and some original paintings, from the very start of horror cinema up to the 2000’s. Highly recommended and well worth the money

A bewildering mix of brilliant and, in my view, pointless material makes my experience of reading this book incredibly frustrating. I love the original poster artwork and all the related stuff but find the more recent work copied from stills etc absolutely boring and, to make matters worse, the ‘copied’ stuff is almost always the biggest artwork on the page, dwarfing the original stuff. I believe a great opportunity has been lost here; this could have been a great, rather wonderful book but instead is, for me, a rather irritating read. I much prefer the approach of one of my all-time favourite genre books – the Art of the B- Movie Poster. Grrrr…

An exquisite and lavish book that is stuffed with a plethora of wonderful images. The Art of Horror Movies: an Illustrated History deserves a place on the shelf of any horror fan’s bookcase. Highly recommended!

A very interesting selection of international horror movie posters, beautifully presented in full colour in a stout hardback book and printed on good quality paper.
Laid out in chronological order, there’s work by many of the leading artist/illustrators of each decade with explanatory texts where necessary. Included are some pretty rare examples of concept work and related art such as portraits of film stars and directors; it’s a great collection of pulp-horror material that should be of interest to both horror fans and those interested in this aspect of commercial graphic illustration.
A good volume of it`s kind, useful as a reference and nice to leaf through.
