Fantastic book, one of the best I’ve seen and all of the activities are tailored to history classrooms. Every activity I’ve read has left me excited to try it in my own classroom and it is definitely worth the money for all of the fantastic ideas it has given me. Invaluable for a trainee teacher like myself.

Emily Thomas has produced a guide to creating great history lessons that is both eminently practical and underpinned by a student centered philosophy of learning. The hundred ideas for outstanding lessons contained in this book, can be put into effect quickly and without hours of preparation in order to deliver really engaging teaching sessions.
Working as the sole history teacher in an FE college, (many of the activities are also relevant for 16+), I am particularly grateful for the work Emily has done in collating together so many of the best ideas around in secondary for teaching history, in such a succinct volume.

I have really enjoyed using this book to add some interesting and useful activities to my teaching. Particularly around revision time when students need variety to stay enthused!

Nothing new shared here. Lots of ideas are on Twitter. Some ideas have been wrongly accredited. Don’t waste money.

A brilliant book. I bought this for some new ideas for my classes and have found it engaging and imaginative while still being very practical and realistically usable on a day-to-day basis. I literally have this on my desk at work and find myself dipping into it several times a day. Thoroughly recommend it.

A compilation of ideas and activities aimed at History teachers. It is very practical and easy to use. Granted few of the ideas are ‘new’, but a brilliant resource to remind you of ideas you forgot to try after seeing them online.
