This book takes a refreshing approach to teaching modern day Chinese that people actually use through stories that adults can relate to. I’ve been learning Chinese for almost 5 years, and I almost gave up studying with teachers because they all relied so heavily on the HSK syllabus which I find quite honestly dull, unrelatable and uninspiring. So when I started learning with LingLing from this book, I was really happy. Her unique approach to creating these stories brings them to life and makes the vocabulary a lot easier to remember.
If you want to practice your reading skills and pick up new, frequently used words, I highly recommend this book!

It’s rare to find a book using authentic Chinese dialogues especially one that comes with audio.
I lived in China for a while and the intermediate book reminds me of how my Chinese friends would talk to me. There’s plenty of dialogues and they cover a lot of topics. This is exactly what I have been looking for.
I hope the author comes out with more intermediate conversation books, in my experience people are more likely to use intermediate level dialogues than beginner or advance.

I really like the dialogues in this book. They taught me a lot of contemporary vocabulary that, even as an advanced student of Mandarin, other outdated textbooks and language learning apps couldn’t teach me. So I have really benefitted from it. Additionally the passages are well-designed and entertaining, so it is easy and pleasant to digest.

This is a valuable book that contains a lot of material. Each conversation covers a different topic, and introduces current modern language that is in everyday use. The topics covered are relevant and interesting. Comes with audio for each conversation, which is spoken by a variety of native Chinese speakers. The audio is clearly spoken at a reasonable speed. I would highly recommend this book as very useful learning material.

This book has an excellent range of interesting and entertaining conversations using contemporary and realistic dialogue and picking up interesting cultural nuances. The style and layout also makes it very accessible.
