But this is no ordinary Christmas wedding and when everything starts to go awry Libby asks gorgeous videographer Guy Hart for help.

I received an advance copy via NetGalley but I’ve still purchased the book for my collection

    My review:

I’ve just returned to my favourite village, I’ve crossed the long ago repaired bridge and I’m home!

That’s honestly what it feels like picking up this book, I’m 100% there, if they’re having churros, I can taste them, if snow is falling, I can feel it!

Christy is truly amazing at drawing you in and leaving you wanting more! I was late finding this series, but it meant I could devour 7 books in a row, now I impatiently wait to return ‘home’

Libby & Guy…ah I love them!! It’s so nice to pop in with old friends too and see what’s happening in the village.

    Absolutely 5* xx

I do love this series. It’s my little go to oasis of calm and good cheer in amongst all the dark and dreadful murders I am usually reading about. There is something warm and welcoming about these books and, it’s true what they say – once you visit (read about) Heartcross, you won’t want to leave. This time it is Libby Carter under the spotlight, younger sister of Flynn, owner of Starcross Manor. So far, she’s the one person who has been able to visit Heartcross without being caught entirely under its magnetic spell. With a new job about to start in New York City, she steps into the breach to help out Flynn when Starcross Manor’s wedding planner quits with no notice, little knowing how much five short weeks might change her vision of the future.

Now we, the readers, are no fools. There is simply no way that Libby will leave Heartcross without it printing itself upon her heart. And when she meets her new and temporary colleague, photographer and film maker, Guy, it’s fair to say that there is an instant, and mutual attraction. But like all good love stories, it’s not going to be a smooth path to romance, and nobody writes this better than Christie Barlow. She creates character’s you feel instantly connected to, and with both Libby and Guy I was quickly engaged in their stories. Not just the will they won’t they aspect of it all – it is all hearts and flowers in Heartcross after all. Quite literally in this case given they are both employed to deliver the perfect wedding for Flynn’s competition winners. But they both have emotional backstories which drew me in, although Libby’s is known far more quickly than Guy’s. the more we learn of them, and their reluctance to trust themselves to love again, the more you can see they are quite obviously a perfect match. There are one or two little parts of Guy’s life which endear him to Libby even more, and if you don’t finish this book at least loving pickle, there is something wrong with you.

Not only do you get brilliant camaraderie in this series, with all of the usual Love Heart Lane characters standing by to create that overwhelming sense of community that infuses the books, but you also get comedy. Suffice to say that the couple that have won the competition are not exactly what Flynn had been expecting. Couldn’t be further from that if they tried to be honest. It adds some comedic moments to the book, as well as the touches of drama and misunderstanding that we have come to expect. The course of true love does not run smoothly – for anyone in this book – and there are things afoot that nobody could have seen coming. But it all comes good in the end – wouldn’t be the same series without a happy ending. Whether it is the one you might have been expecting … Well, read the book and see for yourselves.

Fun, romantic and with that wonderful sense of community, friendship and love that makes this series so special, fans are going to love it. Christmas may have come early, but it’s a snow covered, picture perfect story that really brought a smile to my face. Recommended.

Christie Barlow does it again. Another gorgeously heartwarming romance set in the Scottish Highlands. And another instalment that made me cry!

Libby is in between jobs, she’s putting off packing up her flat for her transatlantic move for her dream job. Big brother Flynn comes a-knocking as he’s been left in the lurch by his wedding planner with a dream wedding to plan in a matter of weeks. Can Libby pull off a miracle and be ever in the debt of Flynn? All under the filming eye of eye candy Guy… well there has to be a perk of this tall order right?

I was willing Libby and Guy to help each other heal from their horrible past relationships. Both thinking they’d never love again but something magical always happens in Heartcross, will the town sprinkle something festive on this pair of work colleagues?

I was addicted to this latest addition to the Love Heart Lane series. Libby was a joy to get to know and I loved her enthusiasm to make this unconventional wedding work, especially when it’s set for Christmas Eve. Her love for those around is wonderful and I’d love to be her friend.

Barlow has written a fabulous emotional tale with a snowy backdrop, making this read perfect for a cold winter’s day (yes yes we’re in autumn I know) curled up under a blanket or in front of a roaring fire. I can’t wait to see what’s in store at the library!

There is a mystery that grabs attention almost immediately- a real “can’t put down” book.
What is really going on draws the reader in and the possibilities make for an excellent read.
Lovely characters and well written, this visit does not disappoint!
