but I still need other resources

I homeschool my two sons and often buy these types of student book to work through. I am sure that this is a great book if you are an IT teacher, but as a parent I found parts of it too difficult to use. Some chapters were really interesting and contained great activities, but others seemed long winded and the learning objectives were not clear to me as a parent. In addition some of the suggested activities seemed too advanced for a year 7 student in my opinion. I struggled to understand how some chapters related to the national curriculum KS3 targets. I may have had more success if I had bought the teacher’s resources that accompany this book, but they were beyond my budget.

Brilliant teaching resource. For anyone approaching the new computing curriculum this is essential reading. Along with the other volumes on the series it covers everything students and teachers need.
