This is a great book and easy to follow with great photos of plants with diseases and disorders and and not too technical.
As always i have never been disappointed with any RHS book i have bought.
It is a good book for both amateurs and professionals to keep in your possession as a reference to use when you have a problem with pest @diseases.

Excellent descriptions with colour pictures of many plant problems, not 100% of problems are covered but the vast majority of common ones are.
I recommend this book to any aspiring gardeners as a way to ensure that if problems do occur then it is possible to quickly find the solution to the problem.

I get the feeling this book has been republished in a smaller format than originally designed as DK, the publishers, usually make larger format books. Nevertheless, it is in usual DK style, richly illustrated, well laid out and attractive. If only some of the charts were in text larger than about 5 points or less. Otherwise, a handy book to keep around for all gardeners, making it easy to look for pests and diseases by photograph or by plant. The solutions are clear and easily obtainable.

Having just retired and purchased my first greenhouse together with management of a small container garden I needed a reference to all the bugs and diseases which conspire to destroy my idea of successful gardening as a hobby. I looked around and investigated what reference works there were available on a budget price without compromising the content and facts. One or two works stood out and this book was one of them. I paids me money and was not dissapointed at all . The book is very comprehensive and easy to understand , just what i would expect from a Royal Society publication. I would have no hesitation in recommending the book ..

Bought this for 2 reasons. One needs to stay ahead of non native invasive pest & diseases. If iI had known about fuchsia gall mite, I would not have pruned when I did. Also I am trying to reduce the number of chemicals I use to protect biological diversity.

This is a really brilliant book! I like in particular the plethora of phantastic images that have changed my way of looking at plants when I’m out for a stroll in the countryside or doing my shopping in the local supermarket. It definitely has sparked my interests in spotting pests and diseases, but in a very beneficial way when before I simply threw things away without even bothering a 2nd glimpse. Now I’m turned more into a plant physician. It’s not a book to take out on a fieldtrip, but more something to look up when in a comfy armchair. Many images are so memorisable that they stick…I think it’s a superb bargain!!!

I always go to RHS first for any guide books in the garden. This does not disappoint.
