The book examines the key mental health problems impacting young people today (such as depression, loneliness and anxiety) and explains how the lifestyle, culture and world they are living in has a significant mental health impact.

Suitable for parents, grandparents, teachers, youth workers and anyone in a position of care or interested in the future of mental health, this book offers tools, exercises and resources to support the next generation.

Meticulously researched, well written and engaging. I enjoyed this book and have taken a lot from it to juggle my own teens. Lily-Jo draws on personal experience with some lovely anecdotes and stories. Lily-Jo takes the questions from parents that become part of our normal arsenal and changes them up to allow engagement. Such a helpful read.

Really good book for parents or anyone caring for younger children. I will recommend this book to my boss as her pre-teen suffers from undiagnosed anxiety.

This book is packed full of evidence-based understanding about mental health in children and teenagers today. This easy to read book gives practical suggestions for anyone whose heart cries out for our young people. A must read for parents, carers, teachers, youth workers – anyone who cares about the mental wellbeing of our young people. As an adult, it challenged me reflect on my own lifestyle, the changes I need to make and the part I could play to help others. Please read this book!

Very interesting book on both personal and professional experiences yet very easy to read. Reading about the struggles that the new generations helped know what is to come as an expecting parent. Highly recommend!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book! It was professional but I loved how the writer gave many examples from a parent point of view, too.
I liked the end of chapter questions which were thought-provoking .
    Highly recommended!

Love this book – Talking to Children about Mental Health.
It covers the challenges facing our kids (Gen Z and Alpha) and what we can do to help them.
It’s a really practical guide and I’ll be implementing what I’ve learnt straight away.

My book came yesterday and I love it! Thank you Lily Jo

This book didn’t live up to what I was hoping for really, as it focuses on “niche” areas (lockdown anxiety, climate anxiety etc) rather than teenage mental health overall. There was some interesting bits but overall I found it fluffy and rather lecturing at times.

Loved this book, it was really well-structured and easy to read with a mix of personal stories, research, and practical tools.

I would recommend for anyone who has children or works with children and is looking to learn more about how they can support their children’s mental health.
