I bought these as a Christmas present for my 14 year old grandson who was delighted. I was a little disappointed when I received them to find that the box was slightly damaged. However, it was very near to Christmas and as the damage was not too serious (I patched it up with sellotape), I decided not to return them.

This is a review of the product as opposed to the story itself. As pretty much everyone and their nan knows about this teenage wizard sensation. Firstly I bought this second hand from Amazon market place saying ‘like new’. So was extremely happy to find it still sealed in its cellophane wrapper, without a mark on it. The outside box is very sturdy and the books fit in snuggly. Each book comes with excellent cover and inside illustrations. This is a Adult edition, for people who don’t want the cartoon like pictures of the original releases. Price is reasonable for the complete set. Yes, you probably could pick them up from charity shops or other Amazon sellers individually at the fraction of the price.But like me who has slight ocd, you’re not guaranteed to get the same edition for all 7 books. Which on a bookshelf will drive me crazy. I promised myself I’d read the books before I watched the films. Which in my opinion should always be done. I’ve been reading now for about 10 days and almost finished book 5. Which should give some idea at how good these books are

Good set of books daughter loves them

After watching all the films for the 10th time, I was struggling to remember how they differed from the books (I read those as a teenager/ young adult). I had the vague feeling the books were better but had lost a lot of the differences in the brain-addled years since reading them.
So I decided to buy this box set to refamiliarise myself with the stories.
I’m so glad I did. I’ve read through 6 of the books already in the last few weeks. On the last book now and sad to be finishing them. And yes, I can confirm they are soooo much better than the films.

I couldn’t be more happy with this project. I love the Harry Potter series and not proud to admit I’ve never read the books ! So I’m extremely happy to own my own set and get reading! The only thing I will say is there is a slight imperfections on some of the books like they’ve been pulled up but this can easily be explained with the compact fit of the case and them being pushed in originally and is easily ignore!

Still the same majic when re reading
