The HILARIOUS new novel and the year’s most perfect festive gift – from million-copy bestselling author David Baddiel

It used to be the most WONDERFUL time of the year, but for years Christmas has been taken over by Winterzone.

All the things that made Christmas special are gone: the human connection, the baubles passed down through generations, even the rubbish cracker jokes.

Instead, Christmas is run by robots, while 3D holograms of Santa Claus called Santavatars check if you’ve been naughty or nice – and on Christmas Eve, all of the presents are delivered by ZoneDrones instead of Santa’s reindeer!

But when they stumble on a curious clue, eleven-year-old Etta and her friend Monty find themselves thrown into a fight to bring back Christmas. Racing against time and against the might of Winterzone, they must find the real Santa – before the true meaning of the festive season is lost forever . . .

David Baddiel’s book ‘The God Desire’ was a Sunday Times bestseller w/c 17-04-2023.

I’ve had nearly all David Baddiel audio books. My granddaughter and I love his stories and the brilliant way he reads them.
I hope he continues to write.

Possibly a bit easy for my 12 year old but he reads for pleasure and as long as a book keeps him interested I don’t mind.
He couldn’t put it down, he found it funny and a great story!

I’m sure you could read this any time of the year but my son read it in a matter of days in the lead up to Christmas. A fun filled easy read great and not too long for more reluctant readers

I always buy two Christmas books to read to my girls through December usually with great delight.
This book is bad, both my girls disliked so much about it and were asking a lot of questions like “why does she call her parents by their Christian names”
He tries too hard to be trendy and PC and it just becomes irritating. The storyline could have made for an epic book but instead it’s difficult to read, uninteresting and slow.

Stay away and read Matt Haig’s “A boy called Christmas” instead.
