We had a wonderful time reading through this little book (several times- the children asked to read it over and over)
We loved the rhyming and loved practicing all the signs. The children discussed all they saw and we were able to share it with a toddler friend who has hearing loss. A beautiful book.

My grand children’s faces light up when they open the pages. They get lost and absorbed in a world of imagaination and fun. They can relate to these stories, more than most other stories, because they are brought to life with wonderful illustrations and fabulous rhyming text. Would recommend to all without hesitation.

This book is so much fun to read! There’s something to spot on every page, packed full of super useful info as well all the signs to follow along with the story. A very welcome addition to our Rhyme & Sign collection!

I love this series of books and in the third adventure the team have produced another wonderful children’s book.
I read this book with H, my partner’s 7 year old son. H is autistic and is learning Makaton at school, although there are numerous differences between Makaton and British Sign Language he did recognise some of the signs. He was also able to learn and copy the signs really quickly.
H really enjoyed the story it was catchy and had a lyrical rhyming quality that really held his interest. Through the use of repetition in the sentences he soon felt comfortable copying the words as I said them. When we read the book a second time (3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th…i’ve lost count now) he was able to recognise some of the words and read them alone.
The illustrations in Out Of My Window are fun and engaging and they gave H and I lots to discuss. We both enjoyed looking at each image and pointing out each of the things we could see.
I used to teach baby signing about 7 yrs ago, but haven’t really maintained my knowledge since then. The sign glossary at the beginning of the book was invaluable and I think it is a great resource for parents. I like how the relevant signs were then shown at the bottom of each page in an unobtrusive way. Meaning that the book could be ‘just’ a story book if you didn’t want to sign.
The book provides other useful resources so that they and their children can get the most from the book including a list of helpful tips, and a supplementary signs glossary so you can take your signing journey further.
What I appreciated most is that this book can be used with children of different ages and abilities and in a number of ways. A story book, a picture book, and a rhyme & sign book all rolled into one. This really is a children’s book that should be on all parents to buy lists.
I was sent a paperback copy of Out Of My Window by Shelley Ensor founder of Little Signers Club. I received this product for free in return for providing my honest and unbiased review. I received no other compensation. All opinions expressed are truthful and 100% my own. I would like to thank them for the opportunity to read and review this book.
