This book was purchased for my fiance as he’s looking into changing career. It’s written in a way that he can understand it better and explains everything to him a better way then courses he’s found online. Highly recommend if this is something you are interested in.

I have some familiarity with computer programming, but I found this book, though well organised, not as helpful as I had hoped. The author has failed to appreciate how people learn – that is to say cumulatively, in stages. If I persevere, I may succeed in becoming expert in these languages but I certainly would have valued a more helpful book along the way.

I’m usually an O-Reilly reader, however I saw this book in my local library and was so impressed with the coverage of Javascript, Node, Express, Mongo that I went ahead and bought myself copy. The author has a really great writing style that is really easy to understand and provides a really good reading pace. I must confess that a ‘For Dummies’ book I wouldn’t have thought would be serious enough or the content too shallow, however this really is not the case with this book. As the saying goes, ‘don’t judge a book by its cover!’, best book purchase on this topic.

I’m employed as a jr full stack dev. This book helps build on my foundation and is helping me achieve my sr status.
Very easy to read and contains everything you need to know as for a full stack js dev role. But modern documentation is needed to stay up to date but that is standard for the role.
