This was a lovely, gentle read. You’ll need tissues for the last chapter. I would have given it five stars if not for the number of times that ‘Lily’s legs/knees almost couldn’t hold her up’ – she probably needs to get them checked out.

Dani Atkins’ Always You and Me has one of the most emotional and heartbreaking opening chapter I’ve ever read in a long time it had me sobbing. Not many books have that effect on me! Always You and Me is a poignant exploration of love, grief, and the weight of the past. Lily’s grief for her husband, Adam, is central to the story, but it’s his final request that forces her to confront long-buried feelings for Josh, her estranged best friend. Their reunion, set against the isolation of a snowy Scottish cabin is beautifully written with so much emotional that even the most hardened hearts will melt.

Atkins effectively uses a dual timeline to add depth, gradually revealing the history between Lily, Josh, and Adam. I loved how their story unfolded, as the reader take a journey through all their high and lows and I found myself Totally caught up in their story. And then I ended this book as I began, sobbing! For readers who appreciate character driven stories with a strong emotional core, Always You and Me offers a thoughtful journey through love and loss.

Another great book by this author. She makes you smile but the tears are never far away. Lovely story with believable characters. Make sure you have plenty of tissues. Loved it.

It started a bit slow to be honest, but it was a lovely read. The poignant ending was very well written…though at first I was confused because I thought she was on the hospital giving birth.

I’ve not read a book by Dani Atkins before, but Always You and Me is stellar reading.

I don’t want to give too much away, but this is a beautifully written story about love lost and found and regained and lost and found all over again.

It’s not a romance in the typical sense, but it is densely emotional and one that will have you rereading passages again and again. I know I will be thinking about it for quite some time to come. Beautiful love story!

A lovely read. Al though it was evident how it would all unfold, it was great getting to know the characters and investing in them.

My first Dani Atkins book but definitely not my last. There’s a roller coaster of emotions within its covers. Great characters and a story that really tugs the heart strings, right to the last page.

OMG from the very first page I had tears in my eyes as this book started. I just love the way Dani Atkins writes her books. She carefully draws the reader in, makes you feel every word as if you are the one living the story.
This is a love story told over several time periods. It made me cry, it made me smile and it was just so realistic. I thought the characters were brilliant.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.

Couldn’t believe my luck when this book was offered as a 99p pre release on kindle. Dani Atkins is one of my favourite authors and I’m jealous of anyone just discovering her with a whole back catalogue to devour! 📖📚 This book was fabulous, all the characters engaging and I never knew what was coming next. That ending! and the tattoo had my in tears. You won’t be able to put it down 🩷

Charming, heartwarming, heartbreaking. I loved every moment of this book from beginning to end. This was my first time reading anything by Dani Atkins. So glad I chose this as my Prime Reading selection last month. Will definitely be reading more of her books.

The FMC of Always You and Me, Lily, is loveable, relateable, and real. The plot is believable and very well-written and edited. Everything felt in-balance. Fully-realized characters, and enough descriptions to give a good sense of place and emotions, without being overdone. One of those rare books that you just hate to see end, it was that good.

Thank you to the author, publisher and Amazon for a terrific read, and for adding this novel to the Kindle Unlimited library. Another great reason to subscribe to KU. 🩷

From the first page I was hooked on the characters. They are all so normal and believable. From childhood to adulthood the characters are so vividly described. The story encompasses so many decades of twists and turns as happens in real life. Hurt, doubt and misunderstandings galore and lots of romance thrown in make this a very special book. I loved it.
