The Dead Man of Storr: A D.I. Duncan McAdam Mystery (The Misty Isle Book 2)
£1.90
Your past will find you… and it will kill you…
When the owner of a Portree gallery is found dead, lying in the snow at the foot of the Storr, D.I. Duncan McAdam and his small team must piece together what took him there… and who had a reason to kill him.
A man with a flirtatious eye and no lack of ambition, there is no shortage of people who would turn a blind eye if something happened to him… and many who would willingly kill him themselves.
As Duncan reveals the long-held secrets of the man’s life, he finds the ghosts of his own past coming back to haunt him. The course of the investigation will not only bring others into danger, but Duncan himself will have to face his own past… whether he likes it or not…
The Dead Man of Storr is the second book in a new series of mysteries set on Scotland’s atmospheric Isle of Skye, the Misty Isle, by the Amazon #1 multi-million selling British crime writer, J M Dalgliesh, the author of the Hidden Norfolk and Dark Yorkshire books.

Another great book could not put it down until the end and what an end ten stars from me

The first chapter piques the interest and it takes a while to connect it to the story. Plenty more of the Island and the relationships of the islanders. I continue to follow this author with interest.

Having holidayed on Skye this year, it is great that one of my favourite authors has chosen this Isle for his next series. Having enjoyed both Norfolk series, the Misty Isle continues the ability of this author to write believable plots with great characters and even without a small knowledge of the area, the descriptions set the scenes so you feel you are there. Apart from writing great novels, this author doesn’t release a book that has those annoying typos that interrupt the flow of reading, whether spelling or grammatical – goes to show it can be done but often isn’t. This series is another must read and I look forward to Misty Isle No 3.

Loved the Norfolk books but loving the Skye ones even more if that’s possible! It’s a beautiful location and one I know very well. Jason has accurately portrayed the area in all its glory. It’ll make you want to visit Skye if you haven’t been before or if not then to go back and see the places that relate to this latest page-turner!
The plot is a cracker – it’ll keep you guessing to the end. DI Duncan McAdam, the characters and side stories developing as this series unfolds are as fascinating as the plot.
Congratulations Mr Dalgleish, you’ve put Skye on the map!

This book had me gripped from start to finish. I really enjoyed the characters back stories. I am looking forward to the next book

Bit boring and dragged on, not that invested in the characters and the whole plot consisted of their back stories not the murder. I found this v slow; it wasn’t until over 50% through that it was actually confirmed it was a murder, for instance.

Excelelnt from start to finish and evn better then the first one in the series. Roll on book three. If you have not read the first book in the series I suggest you do so first.
