Perron Manor—a place evil calls home

Sisters Sarah and Chloe inherit a house they could never have previously dreamed of owning. It seems too good to be true.

Shortly after they move in, however, the siblings start to notice strange things: horrible smells, sudden drops in temperature, as well as unexplainable sounds and feelings of being watched.

All of that is compounded when they find a study upstairs, filled with occult items and a strange book written in Latin.

Their experiences grow more frequent and more terrifying, building towards a heart-stopping climax where the sisters come face to face with the evil behind Perron Manor. Will they survive and save their very souls?

This kept me enthralled all the way through, I’d been quite poorly and needed something to keep me occupied when I couldn’t sleep, this definitely did that. Great story as well.

Well, if horror floats your boat, all the ingredients are here. A huge old house with dark corners, an unruly boiler, innocent newcomers, visitors running scared, a vulnerable baby, etc etc.

And Lee Mountford brings them together well in this pacey story. Not a dull page to be seen.

Why not five stars then? A couple of reasons. One, it can sometimes be a little predictable. and two, the action sometimes lacks the psychological perspective, the drip-drip into the reader’s mind.

However, it’s a good read and I shall be reading more of Lee Mountford’s “Haunted” series.

Lee Mountford is a new author to me. I love the paranormal and I was completely hooked! I could picture everything he described vividly and felt like I knew Sarah, Chloe and Andrew! I read the book within a few days, which is unusual for me! I’ve already ordered book 2 in the series and I can’t wait to read it!

As I have a massive interest in all things paranormal I was looking on Amazon for a new fictional spooky book to read.
I came across this, was super impressed with the reviews and took a chance. Well, I have never read a book that’s had me looking away as I do when a scarey movie is on the tele. As much as I really wanted to read on, at times I had to put the book down and go back to it. I honestly think my sleep was unsettled when I read this at bedtime (which goes to show how amazing and creative Lee Mountford is as an author) like I’d lived through what the residents of Perron Manor were experiencing. Having a moonlight lit visit to the bathroom is now quite unsettling lol.
I persevered with my fears and overrun imagination though and I’m now on book 2 of this series. Completely hooked!!
Lee is a new author for me and I’m loving his writing. Will most definitely read his other books when I’ve finished the Haunted series. Love the story lines and suspense and how the writing creates a film like vision in my head as I read. I feel like I’ve visited Perron Manor!
If you enjoy horror films, have an interest in the Paranormal or just generally like having the eebie geebies scared out of you, this book is definitely one for you!!

This is a great read with more depth than your regular horror read. I enjoyed getting to know the characters and their own history, as well as the history of the house itself. The story built up at a good pace with the odd glimpse of the horror that was to come. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

Read this book in just 2 days. One of many attempts to get back into reading and now I’m hooked. I can’t wait to read the next instalment.
It was deeply and darkly compelling and I became totally absorbed in it. Very scary, particularly as you become emotionally attached to the characters.
I am so pleased to discover that there are more books in the series and I am going to get the next one now.
I am so back into reading, thank you for a fabulous book.

An absolute must read. I didn’t want this book to end. Had me from the first glimpse of seeing the un-natural. But omg, the ending I didn’t see coming by a long shot. I literally cried knowing how it ended. All I can say is even though it’s a supernatural type of book, there will be tissues needed ????
