Nurses Reflection Diary: Revalidation
Nurses Reflection Diary ReValidation
Beware all buyers – this is a workbook, a diary you keep of your own career experiences.
Follow the stages of the Gibbs model which I explain and signpost.
It has blank pages for you to fill in.
All nurses and midwives who practice must revalidate their registration regularly. Part of the process includes reflection.
- Where to consider different ways of working
- Interventions which would have helped.
- What could I have done better?
- How can I improve my professional practice?
- This wouldn’t have happened if…
This workbook provides a means of capturing your own confidential reflections with prompts for you to follow.
There is also a dissected example of one of my own ‘not so brilliant’ nursing experiences for you to see and hopefully sympathise. See where I put each step of my disaster in the reflective cycle. The example gives you a follow-along plan to do the same with yours!
Once done, you can ask your professional supervisor to review your own written reflections and sign them off. Then scan the document and insert into your continuing professional development (CPD) portfolio.
Never search for that piece of paper again.
The Nurses Reflection Diary for Revalidation could cover over 12 years of your nursing life.
Now nurses and midwives will show their professionalism and development in one simple, easy to use, easy to keep and find diary and workbook. There are references and website links for further advice; but the genuine beauty of this workbook is that the Nurse’s Reflection Diary is a stand-alone document to look back, as I do now, and see how far you have come.
Purchase Jane Coomb’s ‘Nurses Reflection Diary’ today and start mapping your professional progression from qualification to promotion, from student to top dog.

This resource is for you if you are training to be a Nursing Associate or are now qualified. It contains the essential knowledge you’ll need to deliver safe, confident, and person-centred care, across the four nursing fields: adult, children, learning disabilities and mental health. Each field is signposted throughout the text (A, CYP, LD, MH) 2. All sections are referenced to support your learning and further professional development 3. An accessible format and clear organisation makes it easy to use. 4. An abbreviation of terms section will help you interpret key information. 5. ABG Interpretation for Nurses: Everything You Need To Know To Interpret Arterial Blood Gases (Resources for RNs & RRTs)
Great Resource for Nurses, MDs, and RRTs:
Arterial blood gases (or ABGs) are some of the more difficult lab tests to understand in all of medicine. Sure, there are normal results given along with the test values, but it doesn’t end there. What does a certain pH in the blood mean? Where does the bicarbonate level come from? These components, along with other values, need to be understood so you can interpret them.
Basically, the ABGs are a test of the arterial blood that check the oxygen levels, the carbon dioxide levels, the acidity (or pH) of the blood, the oxyhemoglobin saturation, and the bicarbonate. If you have a fancy blood gas analyzer, you can get a methemoglobin level, a carboxyhemoglobin level, and sometimes just a hemoglobin level. Each of these lab tests reveal crucial values that are important in caring for patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) and other hospital settings. If you do not know what oxyhemoglobin saturation means (or any of these values), never fear! By the time you finish this guide, you will be an old pro!
In this book, you will learn:
- The Science of Arterial Blood Gases
- pH, Buffers, and the Kidneys
- Normal ABG Values
- Simple Acid-Base Disorders
- Deep dive into understanding ABGs in the Clinical Sense
- ABG Collection and Sources of Error
- Helpful study tools we recommend
- Practice Questions / Case Studies
