Such a fascinating and entertaining book, with facts and stories relating to everything from gadgets to musical beasts! A brilliant book to pick up for a quick conversational snippet or to get lost in. I’ve learnt lots of new facts and my teenage son was just as enthralled. Highly recommend!

This is a short (120 pages) but informative book that covers a huge variety of interesting facts about the 7th planet from the and a whole lot more.

The book covers a wide range of topics, including the history of Uranus’ discovery, its physical characteristics, its moons and rings, and it’s role in the solar system. Before we get to outer space though, Moore takes us on a somewhat unexpected journey beginning with the extremes of the human body, before covering such diverse subject matter as unsolved mysteries, fear, strange food, inventors and inventions, animal Olympics, gadgets, and mythical creatures.

One of the things that makes Moore’s book so enjoyable is the way he presents the information. He does a great job of explaining complex concepts in a way that is humorous and easy to understand. It’s a perfect book to pick up and read for 10 minutes in no particular order.

Overall, 10 Things You Didn’t Know About Uranus is a great book for anyone who wants to learn more about this fascinating planet as well as a plethora of diverse and entertaining subject matter. It’s informative, engaging, and well written. Leave a copy in your bathroom.

The pun in the title is very much intentional in this humorous take on trivia of all kinds, from the human body to Uranus. The ten topics, each with ten facts, are funny and easy to read – the aim of the book is to make learning fun, and it certainly is here. It’s designed to be accessible for children, but there’s plenty to entertain the adults in their lives here, too. The section on the greatest unsolved mysteries was particularly interesting, and I immediately went and read more about the man on Somerton beach… This would make a good Christmas stocking filler.
