I chose the more expensive spiral bound so the pages were easy to open and hold. It is perhaps a bit too floppy suitable only for a stand – I think I could have managed with the perfect bound version

This book can provide some wonderful carols which can make such a lovely change from the more traditional ones.

I’ve had Carols for Choirs 1 and 2 for years but it’s good to have all the favourites in one place, and not juggle books!

Some carols in the other Carols for Choirs books are included but some with new arrangements and
some new carols which every choir member will appreciate. Harold Darke’s ‘In the bleak mid winter
previously on a separate sheet is a welcome addition. This book will provide many carols for carol concerts and services. The choir masters will have a real hay day in making choices for the Christmas season.
For pianists and organists a ample source of music to play for Christmas services and concerts.

Carols for Choirs (mainly volumes 1 and 2 green and orange) has been the standard work for choirs for decades now, and the 100 Carols for Choirs (white) version provides a handy compilation edition with a number of extras both from volume 3 and elsewhere.

With 50 in each of the other books it can’t include everything but it gets most things.
The pieces that I use that are missing from the white book are:
Boris Ord version of Adam lay y bounden. (vol 2)
    Matin Responsory (vol 2)
Second version of Away in a manger (vol 1)

Maybe they are my own personal foibles, but apart from that the 100 CfC is generally more useful than the separate volumes. This does simplify matters if you are out carol singing as you only need one book, or if you are trying to sing in procession whilst carrying a library of books.

This review is meant to be of the 10 pack, so that needs to be described.
Obviously it contains 10 copies. Usefully they are packaged in a corrugated plastic box branded with the trumpeting angel motif, and it comes with a carry handle. Therefore it makes sense to actually keep the box set packaging as it makes it easier to carry them about but also provides protection for those months when the books are not in use.

I like the spiral binder as it makes it easier to keep the book open at the required page.

100 Carols for Choirs is a great book. Every year the Choir that I sing in use this book at Christmas to start the festivities to be begin!
