1939 (The Haunting of Hadlow House Book 10)
£0.99
Caroline Demeter has been running the local pub for many years now. Haunted by memories of her tragic past, Caroline struggles to hold onto her sanity, while trying to deal with the potential collapse of her remaining family. Every scrap of logic tells her that the danger should be over, that the past is firmly locked away, yet in the dead of night she still fears that vengeance is coming
Caroline has always sworn that she will never, ever set foot in Hadlow House again. Now that she’s being lured into the forest, however, she starts to wonder whether she might have misunderstood her destiny all along. Having been hiding for so many years, she finally comes to understand that in fact she might be the only person who can stop the house’s evil forever.
1939 is the tenth book in the Haunting of Hadlow House series, which tells the story of one haunted house over the centuries from its construction to the present day. All the lives, all the souls, all the tragedies… and all the ghosts. Readers are advised to start with the first book in the series.

At the end of the previous book I was beginning to think that the series was running out of steam but, once again, Amy Cross has regained her mojo. The poor Demeter family continue to be cursed by the evil legacy of Hadlow House and the ghost of Fanny Baxter has found a new way to torment the living. A once wealthy family, brought low by tragedy and the misfortune to own one of the most haunted houses in England, remains in thrall to the past. I cannot imagine how the series will end but I will be there at its conclusion.
by a really good thriller Louise B
