I found this book a little light on detail. It is broken into chapters of events between 1990 and about 1996 but skims over the actual matches and stories of the time.

Credit to the author, who approached all of the changes in our favorite sport in 1992.
Times that the shift from the Italian league being the place to be.
To the change in the backpack rule , foreign players. And the introduction of the Premier league that shifted the power of world football.
Can’t wait until the next book.

Just finished this book in double quick time – a really good read and insightful into a period of change in our national game. Loved the chapters on the back pass rule and Channel 4’s coverage of Serie A but did not need reminding of how bad England were at that time. Great stuff!

Fascinating although a bit harsh on 80s football. Enjoyed the book but not sure that the author actually experienced football in the 80s.

From the birth of the Premier League and Champions League, to the introduction of the backpass and Football Italia’s TV debut, 1992 was a year that saw massive changes in the game. The author channels their clear passion for the era into an entertaining, accessible account of the footballing year. Thoroughly enjoyed this!

From the first chapter, I found this a difficult read despite the interesting subject.
It is poorly written. Large font makes the book appear longer than it need be. I was very excited for this but was very disappointed.

A great read. Thoroughly researched and a total understanding that it wasn’t just the birth of the Premier League that changes Football in 1992. Completely recommend for football fans especially those of 90s nostalgia. Also if you’re on Twitter give Rob a follow for great content
