Giving this 5 stars as I love the whole concept and the first 2 books. Unfortunately this last book left me strangely disappointed and unfulfilled. After I finished book 2, I felt I had been holding my breath the whole way through, such was the chemistry and sexual tension between Evie and Jacks. This last book however, was more about Evie and Apollo, and Jacks was hardly in it! I wanted that previous chemistry and the two of them to be together the whole way through with Jacks teasing and flirting, but this didn’t happen. There was also no spice at all apart from one scene where Jacks then fell asleep. I get that this book is about the fact that Jacks kills anyone he kisses, so obviously he can’t kiss her, but there was nothing at all in the spice department, which I wouldn’t expect from a young adult book. Maybe the author wanted this book to be read by younger readers too? There were a lot of loose ends not followed up and it looks like the next books will feature Chaos and Lala as there was no explantion around her and the dragon shifter who was her true love (Dane) despite the fact that he is now around again after being freed. Finally, there was no explantion about why Jacks eats apples and why they are all different colours. The most important part of all! This really irritated me after he refused to tell her why at the end of the book, just saying that he didn’t need them anymore. The last few pages were also very stressful as I kept thinking they wern’t going to end up together, even though they did. The whole thing was very disappointing after all the anticipation. It all felt a bit rushed to me with many scenes being under developed. Even so, still a 5 from me because of the first 2 books and because I love the author. I will still buy every book she ever writes.

It’s the time we’ve all been living and surviving for. The reason I’m still here and alive today was the ending to this beautiful story. I started the once upon a time trilogy last year and I ate it and Stephanie up, a beautiful fantasy writer she done the book, the story and the characters a great justice.
I knew Evangeline would end up with him, there was no other way the story could’ve went (in my opinion) they wore simply destined to be from the get go. Apollo and Aurora wore a nice set of unsuspecting villains and LaLa is the love of my life. I’d like to think the next story in the magnificent north will be LaLa’s.
I absolutely adored this series and the Caraval one. The world building and character progression deserve an honorable mention. I’ll be looking out for the next one Stephanie releases as she has simply become my all time favorite author. There was only one way I felt the book could end and thankfully it was the right one as Apollo scares me : )
It’s been a great ride Evangeline, and especially to Jacks????

Desperately waited for this book to come out… was released today and started reading at 4am on kindle, couldn’t even sleep. Ordered special editions etc. So big fan. ????
I also had loads of different scenarios in my head, theories around things and possible outcomes. So…….. because of all this excitement I feel like to book fell a bit short… but again it’s just because I had huuuge expectations!
The start felt a bit… off, can’t really put my finger on it but I constantly had so many questions as in WHERE IS JACKS, we’re 30% in the book!! It did pick up after 50% at an alarming rate and found myself thinking there’s definitely going to be another book in the series as too many loose ends, lack of time spent with the main characters and questions lingering. But surprisingly everything got answered in the last 150 pages. It just felt a bit rushed, it should have had at least 500 pages and much more time spent on scenes between Jacks and Evangeline, their moments together. I just wanted more!!!????????
Secondly a bit too much repetitiveness around previous books… for fans like me it was a bit pointless to be reminded every few pages what happened in the other 2 books ???? Erm I know the story by heart…????
So all in all it was a good book, loved the ending, quite a few twists, especially one that I kind of raised a brow at, around the curse of Jack’s kiss… (SPOILER ⚠️ ****I didn’t think in the Caraval series Donatella would have never been able to love him?????****⚠️)
I just had a different version in my head of what will happen in this book, with a bit more hot scenes as well maybe… but no spice sorry guys! Had biiiiig hopes for the one bed vacancy at the Inn????????
So refreshing to read a fairytale like story around second chances and Prince charming NOT always being the best option. About never giving up to find happiness even after failed marriages. That’s the most beautiful thing about their story.????????????

I absolutely loved this book and it was so sorry the wait. I loved the jacks and Evangeline relationship. I felt like I was there in the back ground begging them to find each other and have their happy ever after. I read this book in 2 nights as I just couldn’t put it down until I found out how it all ended. I don’t want this story to be the end, I want to read more about jacks and Evangeline. I didn’t want the story to end. Fans of the stories will love this book and won’t be disappointed.
I thought it was a magical story which takes you away into a magical land where all my worries are magiked away
For me both young adults and adults of all ages will love this magical book and I can guarantee you will be transported to another land far away
