A Toolkit for Teachers: Autism, ADHD and Mental Health

£9.50

Are you working with young people who have special educational
needs? Are you looking to build understanding and find some useful
strategies? Do you know what young people think about autism,
ADHD and their mental health?

This book has been designed with young people who have learning
differences and includes the things they want teachers, parents and
the public to know. Our book hopes to fill the gap that we currently
see across society in our understanding towards young people with
SEND. While building understanding, the book also looks to offer
strategies and approaches that have been suggested by young
people themselves.

This is a unique approach to supporting young people with SEND.
Too often we can think we know best – but do we really know what
our young people want or need without asking them first? Focusing
on autism and ADHD, the book also features positive approaches to
supporting young people’s wellbeing.

What a great informative read. You can see that children really are at the heart of this book and have been listened to but more importantly heard. Such simple changes that can be made to make big differences. Fabulous for anyone who is working with/living with an individual who has a diagnosis of ASD/Autism. Every educational establishment should really have this to hand

This book is excellent and I recommend it to anyone who works in a school. Also really useful for Parents to read to see how schools should be supporting their children.

The book is really accessible for anyone to read and there is no complicated jargon and any relevant terms are clearly explained.

The text is clearly laid out and easy to pick up and read anytime and go back to specific areas as needed.

It would make a great text book for teachers in training as it’s so easy to read and absorb.

If you work in a school or have a child in school who is struggling – please read this book. It really helps raise awareness of differences and how children can be supported in school.

Well done Multi Schools Council! 10/10

This book is an excellent read, not just for school staff but for parents and carers too. It is well written and will help anyone who supports or cares for children to develop a better understanding of how the world is for children with additional needs.
Everyone who works with, cares for or supports children and young people should have access to this most informative and easy to digest book. A very recommendable read.

I have been in education for 20 years and have been waiting for a book like this to impact not only myself but the school I work in. Informative, full of ideas and strategies and most importantly, written using suggestions from those that know better than anyone else how it feels to be part of the tapestry of SEND,the young people. I am already using it as part of my social and awareness groups and consider it my ‘go to’ when trying to explain in further detail the importance of difference. Its a must buy for teachers, support staff and the public!

Often lots of jargon can be used in books about autism, ADHD and Mental Health and it can become distracting but this book is different. It is easy to read and so many of the activities mentioned are easy to implement in the classroom without having to spend hours sourcing resources. Thank you for creating such a helpful toolkit.

This book is a 10/10 from me! I would change the name to a toolkit for everyone though (support staff, office staff, lunch staff) everyone could benefit from this and learn from it. It’s a really educational bible and I would recommend it to anyone! It’s helped me as a parent and as a school worker! I can’t wait for the next book ????
