A beautifully illustrated guide to nature through the seasons by much-loved printmaker Angela Harding.

This stunning work, the first book that is solely dedicated to Angela’s art, is a celebration of her beautiful prints, and a glimpse into her detailed and meticulous process.

A Year Unfolding is a journey through Angela’s year in nature watching the seasons unfold in front of her from her studio in Rutland, and giving the reader detail into how nature transforms and evolves over the course of the year.

A Year Unfolding also tells the stories behind some of Angela’s most popular images, giving context to Angela’s celebrated work, as well as new art created specifically for the book. The beautiful illustrations and evocative imagery of the prose make this the perfect book for Angela’s fans and readers and art lovers everywhere.

Angela has created the covers for many bestselling books, including The Salt Path and The Wild Silence by Raynor Winn, October, October by Katya Balen, English Pastoral by James Rebanks, Christmas is Murder by Val McDermid and RSPB Birds among many others.

This really is a lovely book to read and own. Stunning illustrations/plates of Angela’s linocut and silkscreen prints. The accompanying text is very interesting and a great read. Thoroughly recommended as a gift to yourself or as a gift for someone else.

Exactly as described, second hand book, good condition, arrived exactly when it was supposed to.
The book is wonderful, stunning copies of Angela Harding prints with a little writing by way of explanation on the side of each. I was surprised by the beauty of some of these prints which I’d not seen before eg Terns at Sea, Plovers and Pinks, there’s one of a fishing trawler but I cannot find the name to it but the write up next to it on the other page is very amusing.

Beautiful illustrations with a gentle accompanying text that add additional depth and colour. I’m sure it’s even more gorgeous in print, but it’s wonderful on the Kindle app.

After purchasing her delightful slim 2022 calendar a year ago I decided to take a punt on Angela’s book. This turned out to be the perfect morning/evening companion for a light read with a cuppa. There’s more lovely prints to view through the window of the artist’s eye and a journey through the seasons, learning about our native wildlife along the way. There’s also bit of info about printmaking and insight into the life of a working professional printer.

The book brought back many pleasant memories of my own art foundation course several decades ago, where we all had a go at all the various printing techniques whilst deciding on which creative path we would take. My own path was already decided, but in a different life I might very much have liked to become a printmaker. It’s a traditional skill that can’t be replicated with today’s methods of producing artwork – and even if it can be replicated, inks, paints, crayons, papers, tools and aprons are all part of the fun!
