I am using it in association with the Trevor Wye Beginner’s Book for the flute part one. It is a nice complement, offering fun and easy tunes.

Recommended by my child’s new flute teacher. A good range of tunes with a lot of familiar, traditional tunes. Definately worth buy with the CDs included so they can listen to the track as they learn it, or play along as they practise.
Only minor negative comment (note to printer/ publisher) is that the binding of the book is fixed tightly with just 2 staples which causes the thicker card cover to start tearing away, even on first opening the book. After 3 weeks’ use the cover is still attached, but I don’t know if it will be in another 3 weeks. (I remember this happening on my Clarinet book over 30 years ago – would have throught publishers/ printers would have improved on book binding and staple technology by now! 🙁

I am 67 years old and after a 52 year break since playing the Fife I had a desire to play the flute. My Flute teacher recommended Abracadabra as the guide to my lessons and I purchased the book with the 2 CDs . I have a reading difficulty that limits severely the speed at which I can read so mainly play by ear. The book and accompanying CDs are perfect and had me accompanying the music easily and quickly many thanks for a wonderful product delivered almost quicker than one can draw breath to play a note 🙂

I bought the on the recommendation of my daughter’s flute teacher, and within a few weeks my 8-yr old daughter (who had never played a flute before) was rattling off all the tunes on the first few pages. The book comes complete with two CDs which are perfect for helping my daughter get used to the timing so that she can play along with the CD whilst following and becoming familiar with the musical notation. New notes are introduced gradually with instructions on finger placement as well as the musical notes on paper. An excellent purchase, my daughter is delighted with it.

Bought for an adult beginner flautist. Sadly on the very first page of instruction, the fingering for A is incorrect. Not what you expect from Collins. No photo added as I didn’t want to infringe their copyright!

Lock down fun. Great book to learn from for absolute beginners. I would strongly suggest watching a few youtube vids on how to hold the flute and play the first few notes. Great help.
