This makes for a good starter book. You need to have the basic understanding of note positioning & reading of the notes first ( I printed chart off internet), then co-ordinated the two together.

Nice book for new musicians!

This book takes a very progressive approach and so it’s really useful for beginners. I don’t have a teacher but am playing well and enjoying trumpet after only a few months; this book helped a lot.

The print is large which is good for young children. More suitable for a child who has been learning for a few weeks and is confident with the notes C, D, E, F and G than an absolute beginner. Contains well known songs like ‘when the saints’, ‘this old man’, ‘London Bridge’, ‘Yankee Doodle’ – children love playing songs they know. A good book to compliment a beginner’s book.

Very good. Clear, easy to follow structured lessons to learn how to read basic music. Very much on the teacher syllabus route .

Fantastic book however it isn’t suitable for a young child who is beginning to play trumpet as it only covers areas very basically.

Great for beginners. It does help if you have some music theory knowledge already but there are lots of free videos and websites to learn.

As an adult beginner I found this very comprehensive and easy to read from. I had a Tune a day book previously, which is a bit to advanced for beginners
