£19.60£21.80 (-10%)
This book helps adult nursing students to competently manage care of critically and acutely ill patients, and to recognise and deal with the early signs of deterioration. The book takes a practical real-life approach to care, with each chapter focusing on patients with specific problems, then interweaving the knowledge and skills needed to care for that patient. The book focuses on developing clinical assessment and decision-making skills so that students are able to care for patients who are unstable, deteriorating or critically ill, regardless of their location.

I have just finished reading this book and it has been invaluable learning tool and filling in gaps of knowledge. Would definitely recommend to nurses pre and post registration.

Brought this book to use in risk assessments and understanding illness and deterioration as a student nurse. Really easy to read and has loads of case studies to make the text easier to understand in a clinical setting. Great quality arrive 24 hours after ordering

An excellent insight into the deteriating patient and the role all nurses have in their care. Going through core physiological areas in which a patient may present.
The book present case studies and critical thinking excersises to help develop the skills required to assess a patient when theory has to be applied. Linking directly to the NMC code and will be a great help on assignments.
An essential for all student nurses even if critical care is not your specialist area of interest.

I had a module at the university about the acute care of the adult. Presentation never covered much and it felt like a rushed module with plenty of reading lists and not enough time, I looked for alternatives and found this book, while it does cover the majority of things albeit not in much details but it is plenty enough for what you need.
