I’ve had this book for years and it definitely does what it says on the cover. Bought this one for my son and his wife, who are both working full time and have 2 small children so not much time. Hopefully they will find it as useful as I did.

I never cooked before i bought this book (frozen pre-cooked food doesn’t count!).
The dishes are hard to screw up, proven by the fact that i have not. The meals are very easy to make and taste even better,not to forget they are also CHEAP to make.
To sum it up, this book has made cooking something that can be done without a lot of time and effort and yields great results.

We have every cookbook author known to the kitchen in our house – Jamie, Nigella, Slater, Rhodes, Delia etc etc.
However, apart from Delia’s early classic series, Ainsley gets more of an airing than the the others.
This is because his recipes are tasty, accessible in method, they work (take note Nigella) and don’t involve much in the way of esoteric ingredients that you’ll never use again.

I bought this for a friend based on having owned the book myself for years. I use it a lot and have cooked most of the recipes in it, some over and over again. Many do take about an hour to make, but you’re generally cooking from good, fresh ingredients so it’s worth it. The recipes are very reliable and come out very well.

As always I shan’t cook every dish in the book, so buying second hand is ideal for me and I was pleased to receive this book in an acceptable condition
