This is a review for the long awaited re-edition of the Aliens Colonial Marines Technical Manual.
After all those years, that this book has been sold at prohibitive prices a lot of the time(i’ve seen it at almost &621 sometimes), in hands of speculators, the wait it’s over and all that “black market” has been blown out by Titan Books re-edition of this classic work.
(Almost) all you wanted to know about this charismatic armed force of the 2nd Alien installment, it’s here. Dispositions, weapons, vehicles, armor, uniforms, body armor, tactics, info about the Sulaco, the Dropship, etc. All it’s in here.
It makes the Colonial Marine Corps a more “alive” organization, expanding way out of what is seen on the movie.
The book is presented both in b&w and in colour illustrations and photographs. Basically is the same book as released by Boxtree years ago, without changes or additions.
A cheap, reliable, fast and quality way of getting ahold of this book, again. No more hours and hours of searching trough 2nd hand stores, no more 14th hand worn out copies at high prices. If you want it, here on Amazon.co.uk you’ll find it at a great price.
Highly reccomended.

Read some negative reviews so wasn’t sure what to expect but it’s great, don’t understand the grumbling at all. Excellent for a fan of the series.

We keep this in the toilet at work so we are prepared for the ever present threat of alien invasion. Thank God for Apone, Ripley, Bishop, Hicks, Hudson et al-we now know how to handle the alien queen. Except we won’t be flushing it out of the airlock, more probably flushing it down the Ubend and rinsing with bleach. All together now…..BIIIISSSHHOOPPPPPP!!!!!!

Very well written and Aliens fans will love it, there are not many illustrations in this book but we have to remember when it was originally written way back in the day. I saw this book when i was around 14 originally so it quite old ish within reason. Id love to see an updated version but for the Alien enthusiast its good.

Here is a must for any Aliens fan. well thoughout with great insight into the world of the colonial marines, their equipment and thier tactics. Great pictures and illustrations that only enhance what James Cameron brought to the life in the Alien universe. This manual takes you through squad tactics, use of weapons and their tec specs, dropship and APC designs and specs and even space warfare tatics than just for good measure the reports that the company have received about the new alien lifeform thats been found on LV 426.

I bought this to lend some atmosphere to playing the game and wasn’t disappointed. This is truly great fan service and pretty much answers all the major questions about life in the Colonial Marines. The only minor criticism I have is that its perhaps a little bit too text heavy and really needs more diagrams and illustration. There are so many fascinating items and concepts that I’d love to see them!
For fans of the movie this is really a no brainier though 🙂
