If you’re considering it, just do it! You won’t regret it! Without giving away any spoilers. This book is loosely based around the true crime case of Skylar Neese.
Selman did a fabulous job of allowing us to follow the character of Finn who shows us the case from the POV of a sister.
It’s truly well written and the twists and turns were so unexpected and left me yearning for more!
I read this within a couple of days as it was so gripping!

I loved this book. I enjoyed the twists and turns and it had a proper ending. The characters were real and you could feel the trauma with them.

When Izzy gets in with the wrong group of friends her sister fears the worst. But she didn’t realise how bad it could get.
Grooming, drugs, manipulation, lies and surprises .
The novel is told from sister Finns viewpoint both as a ten year sold and reflecting as an adult as she finds out what truly happened at turtle bay.

Extraordinary! Un-put-downable! Possibly the best book I’ve ever read!
I love twisty crime stories and they don’t come much twistier than this! The main twist completely floored me! I absolutely didn’t see it coming snd straight away had to go back and see what I’d missed. It was so clever and so brilliantly done.
The story is so gripping. I literally stayed up all night reading it. It’s inspired by a true crime story (I like that it tapped into something real) and although it’s about a murder it’s really not gory at all- which is good for me because I’m quite squeamish.
Utterly brilliant and completely compelling. Do yourself a favour and this book now!!!

Only just started to read this book but looks as if it’s going to be a great read (nice short chapters)

Having read ‘Truly, Darkly, Deeply’ and really enjoyed it, I was looking forward to this book and it did not disappoint. Three teenagers attend a party at Turtle Lake and only two return. The book follows a couple of timelines providing back story and largely focuses on Finn, the elder sister of one of the girls. It is quote dark in places without going into spoilers. Relationships are a big part of the plot (family, friendship), the dynamics, manipulation and the toxicity that can also arise especially when situations are inappropriate.
There’s plenty of twists and turns, as the book developments and up until the end of book, you are still not sure who was actually the main instigator. A well written true crime-esque read, and well worth picking up a copy.

This book started out reasonably well but as it progressed I had more questions than answers. The father & housekeeper came across as weak individuals. Strange read. All in all I was disappointed. Came across as a miscarriage of justice case in my opinion. Far fetched. Would not recommend. Sorry!

We all have different tastes with books films etc.but this book I wouldn’t recommend. The idea is good but it’s unbelievable and repetitive.
Not for me.
