An Actor’s Handbook: An Alphabetical Arrangement of Concise Statements on Aspects of Acting (Performance Books)
£15.20
“I have felt there was nothing for me to do except to devote my labour and energy almost exclusively to the study of Creative Nature…I have acquired a sum of experience in the course of long years of work and this is what I have sought to share with you.” (Stanislavski)Here in concise form is what Stanislavski said about acting, alphabetically arranged to aid students, professionals and lay people interested in the stage craft. These collected short statements on a variety of subjects cannot replace the full expression of Stanislavski’s ideas and discoveries in his other books, but they will serve to refresh the reader’s memory and pinpoint what Stanislavski has to offer enquiring minds both in and out of the theatre.

The book is as advertised, and arrived in good order, as advertised. I have quite a few to get through, so I have yet to crack open the covers for the purposes of study. However, as a newbie to Stanislavski, I am looking forward to the lesson.
Thank you
God bless and take care

One of the most interesting aspects about “the Method” is how widely it is (mis)interpreted. Here, in his own words, are Stanislavski’s thoughts on acting. They are not spoken in the drama school sense of “this is what you do here” but rather in the sense of “this is how you should think about this-or-that”. truly fascin\ating stuff.
