The first ever graphic novel version of Animal Farm – a Times Book of the Year
Animal Farm is the story of what happens when the downtrodden animals of Manor Farm overthrow their master, and how their revolution goes horribly wrong. Now George Orwell’s dark, timeless fable has been turned into a graphic novel for the very first time, illustrated in full colour by the renowned Brazilian artist Odyr to bring us a whole new work of art.
‘This brightly coloured homage to Orwell’s timely allegory is heartbreaking and elegant. Odyr’s images of animals casting off their bonds and then living with the results of their revolution are painterly and evocative, both loose and illuminating’ The New York Times

My son actually did some fully independent reading of this book. Graphics are good, type is a good size and gives you a good knowledge of what the full book is, using key language from the full book.

Excellent graphics novel. True to the story and nicely illustrated. we got this for our 10-year old daughter who is very much into books but even more enjoys collecting and reading graphic novels. Books are these are quite a good way to introduce her to literacy classics.
The colourful illustrations are in a distinctive brush stroke watercolour style, therefore more suggestive and not as straight and clear as in other graphic novels of comic books. Yet the style is very appropriate for this somewhat dark story and the book in this form very well captures the essence of the original work. As a consequence however the story, that was already short in Orwell’s original format, is only a brief read that took our daughter only a little more than a hour. But this is fine. More of an issue to people familiar with the book might be that several crucial and sometimes disturbing aspects of the source material were chosen to be left out. So perhaps it’s more an introduction to the story or an illustration of parts of the story to those who have read the book. Still even as an abbreviated and condensed version it is a nice read that is visually appealing. It’s a worthy addition our daughters’s small collection of graphic novels. I spent some time to explain the background and real-world parallel to our daughter, which she perfectly understood given that she knows a fair bit about 20th century history.
I’m always happy to buy high quality graphic novels, as its not only our daughter that will read them, also me and my wife will pick them up. So it’s very good value to me.

The print version is fine. However, on Kindle you get none of the images, just the text. Bit of a scam really.
