£10.40
Knowledge Organisers cover beliefs and practices, from sin and salvation in Christianity to The Five Pillars of Islam. Thematic studies help you look at themes through the eyes of both religions.
By working through the Knowledge – Retrieval – Practice sections, you will be using proven ways to revise, check and recall so that what you revise sticks in your memory.
Knowledge Organisers present you with the beliefs and practices for both Christianity and Islam, as well as the thematic studies which look at themes through the lens of both religions. Key quotes from each religion are given, while charts and tables help memory retention. An online glossary helps you to learn the definitions to key terms.
Regular Retrieval questions give you an opportunity to check that you remember what you have learned. Retrieval questions from previous chapters help you to re-remember what you have learned.
Finally, exam-style Practice questions give you loads of experience of the type of question you will face in your exam. This will strengthen your ability to recall and apply knowledge in your exams. All the answers to the practice questions as well as a helpful mark scheme are provided online.

Starting off with distinct chapters on Christianity and Islam, the book then continues with a comparison between the two. The subject matter is fairly complicated and you really will need a good fact checking book to trudge through this complicated subject.

This is a substantial working through of key beliefs and themes from these two monotheistic faiths. The presentation is accessible and engaging. The learner should be drawn into the heart of the matter, consolidating what they have learned previously. There is also a question on ethical issues and how the faiths address them.
The structure these books use is knowledge (key units of knowledge, clearly explained, some fascinating sources and illustrations), Retrieval (encouraging learning and revision), and Practice (engage with practice questions as you would find in the exam).
A recommended resource.

I bought this revision book for my son who picked PRE for his GCSE. With exams coming up he asked me to get this for him. This book contains both revision and practise questions which was exactly what he needed. It has everything you would need on Islam and Christianity which is the topics for this years pre. Overall I’d definitely recommend it for GCSE students for revision and help with preparing for exams and achieving excellent results.
