Very nice book but I Found it hard to learn it without an arabic teacher who is expert in arabic because it has very difficult grammar that needs to be explained deeply by an experienced arabic teacher.

A small book which doesn’t seem to be addressed to English speakers in the Uk as it was ported from a different context. It requires lots of repetition and reading aloud but it doesn’t introduce letters in Arabic and ways of writing them. So, although it’s not an intimidating, huge grammer book, you will probably need a teacher to check your pronunciation and to supplement your learning of Arabic.

THE book to start learning Arabic. If you use all three books of this series, you would have a level that exceeds intermediate. If you are a total beginner, use the Gateway to Arabic handwriting book, then start with this one. You get a very good grounding in the simplest of Arabic grammar, without all the fluff topics like buying plane tickets or what’s for dinner tonight. This means that you have an excellent base from which to start reading Arabic and actually understanding it, rather than having lots of superfluous vocabulary. It is advisable to have a teacher, and that does not have to be an Arab! I learnt from native English speakers who had studied this book as beginners themselves.”Madinah Book 1″, as it is so widely informally known, gives you the roots of your Arabic tree – others only give you the branches.
