when i purchased this book i was hoping it would include some useful information and insights into the plying styles of many bassists.. the books title does say “Styles, Stories and Secrets of 30 Great Bass Players” after all. And not “Interviews and articles, and sucking up to 30 bassists” as would be a more appropriate title. Many of the articles go into great depth saying how good the players are, and how many albums theyve made, but it fails all together to give any insight on the afore mentioned (in the title) “Styles” or “secrets”.. If you’re looking to improve your playing skills look elsewhere, however if you want to learn about working within the industry this provides some (only a little though, there are better books out there for this..) information by talking about other peoples experiences. Not for me though
