£10.40
A practical and comprehensive beauty guide for teen girls by an award-winning beauty journalist.
At some point, every girl is going to come up with a whole bunch of questions about her skin, her hair, her looks … and when Alice’s daughter, Molly, started asking, there seemed to be so many, you could write a book. With chapters about hair, make-up, spots, skincare, hair removal, manicures, pedicures and how to look good in pictures, this fabulous beauty bible extends a sympathetic helping hand as it guides teenagers through the minefield of often inappropriate beauty advice in a friendly and informative way.

My daughter is almost 10 and loves this book!
by Katie-ann Wolf
The book itself seams OK its full of information but maybe abit to formal to be the kind of fun book I was hoping for. A wider variety of hair and make up lookes and techniques shown on different models would have been good. Probably good for someone who enjoys lots of facts and reading. Also the book itself arrived damaged and it’s meant to be a gift!

My Great Granddaughter loved this book , it has lots of tips for young teenagers ,she’s 15 and thinking of the future in terms of Hairband Beauty.

Great book that covers a range of topics from skincare and hair to makeup, teeth and eating well. For the slightly more sensitive children, there is a photo of skin cancer that younger children may find upsetting. Aside from that a good book. One section is ‘how to look good in photos’ so for those self-conscious or at ask risk of developing worries, perhaps skip over that section.

Bought two of these for my grand-daughters aged 11 and 14. Almost kept one for myself. The book is perfect for teenagers beginning to explore the world of makeup. It explains how to apply makeup without it looking ridiculous, care for their skin and hair. It is not patronising and is written in a format that would encourage any teen, even the truly rebellious ones to read and take note.
I think the key to this book is the input from the authors daughter, which deals with real issues for teenagers rather than issues that adults think teenagers should deal with. It deals with the importance of skin cleansing particularly in terms of the need to remove makeup before going to bed. Anyone who has had to try and explain this to teenage girls will know how much notice they take, but I suspect because of the way this book is written, they will be more likely to get into that routine.
It does not promote specific products, which I think is a bonus, nor does it promote the idea that you need to purchase expensive moisturisers and cleansers etc.
I would definitely recommend this to parents of teenagers, not just those who are beginning to discover makeup

Bought for my 12 year old neice she loves it as she’s got to the age of secondary school she started showing an interest in make up, hair styling. It’s a good easy to follow starter book with lots of chapters about different things like hair styling, make up, face shape, skin care, healthy eating and hair care. Decent amount of pictures for reference.

This was okay but seemed a bit old-fashioned in the illustrations. However, some good tips for someone who doesn’t have much clue about applying makeup. I fear it will end up collecting dust though!
