If your not really that interested in main character backstories and just wanting nonstop horror and monsters then I don’t recommend reading this book till it’s the last, this happened to be the case with me. However, if you enjoy medieval war in a fantasy world then yes I recommend, that’s if your heart can take it for Guts devastating childhood

I had high expectations for this after reading so many gushing reviews but I just can’t understand what all the fuss is about.
The art is childish and the story is just too simple for any adult to be entertained. I’ve got through 250 pages in less than a hours read. Maybe later volumes improve the story but I’m not risking another 30.00 for something that’s probably not much better.
About halfway through volume 2 and I started to get the story and enjoy the art. I still think the first 100 or so pages weren’t up to standard but I’m now 100 pages from the end and I’ll be lieing if I said that I’m not enjoying it and I’ll definitely try the next volume.

Very good edition. Big size helps to appreciate the art. Hard cover is great. Quality of print very good. Had only one spot where one letter was cut half at the top of the page, other than that everything was perfect.

I still loved reading this even though I regretably watched the anime because I couldn’t wait to buy the book, it has alot of extra content so still a good read, and I’m looking forward to volume 3. Tl;Dr amazing book
