Fast delivery, book is in fantastic condition. Profits go towards schools and library’s etc so even more reason to purchase from them. Exactly what I needed, studying bookkeeping and this explains it really well, an easy read.

Frank Woods’ books are considered the bible of accountancy education and really should be on anyone’s bookshelf if they are involved in this area.
The Structure of Volume 1, is in 8 Parts:
Introduction to Double Entry Bookkeeping
The Financial Statements of Sole Traders
Books of Original Entry
Adjustments for Financial Statements
Special Accounting Procedures
Partnership Accounts and Company Accounts
An Introduction to Financial Analysis
An Introduction to Management Accounting
The layout of the book is extremely well thought-out with colourful graphcs, tables, exhibits (examples), activities, learning outcomes and review questions in each chapter. Answers to all the chapter review questions are provided in Appendix 1 and a Glossary of all the Accounting Terms are listed in Appendix 3. While the layout looks good, the content and description of concepts, techniques, terminology and equations is really clear and addressed at an introductory level.

I found some of the wording confusing. I think this is a very useful book if used in conjunction with a good accounting class/teacher. On its own, it is tedious and lacking “simon says” examples which leaves room for doubt. I think one of the Dummies series or a similarly designed “teach yourself” book would be a good companion.

My tutor recommended this book when I was studying for my C&G Accounts and Bookkeeping Level 2 exam. I mainly used my course material to study but found this book useful as a second source. The latest edition is expensive so I ordered a used copy of this edition and it arrived in good condition

the book was in good condition was just a bit disappointed that I was only informed when it was dispatched and not when it had been delivered – further I could not track it!

Great book, it may be old but the information and concepts are the same. Easy to understand and follow. I Recommend this book for those who are just starting out in accounting and reference for anyone else.
