The quality of the paper is poor. I’ve used a pilot parallel pen and it bleeds. How can you practise thin lines if the blue as soon you write ? the whole point of a calligraphy pad is that it works well with fountain pen ink . I would have preferred less pages and better quality. Rubbish don’t bother

Works better as blotting paper. Significant bleed from the ink. Very disappointing.

Great quality and value for money. Love this for practicing both my brush calligraphy and my Italics and French Ronde etc. Pens don’t bleed on paper, definitely buying another one when I need it.

Not suitable for ink dip pens!
Im learning copperplate calligraphy as a complete beginner using ink dip pens, after using some standard graph paper and eyeballing the required 55 degree slant and 3:2:3 ratios I decided I wanted to up my game and this seemed to tick all the boxes that and the 4.3 rating over 87 reviews.
Unfortunately there is a flaw, the ink will just bleed all over the paper, causing no definition between the thick and thin strokes which make copperplate a beautiful script to use.
I have attached photos of generic graph paper I was using and the calligraphy paper workbook using the same ink dip pen. If you are using ink dip pens I would definitely look for alternate options as this will not provide a satisfying result.
On a positive, it’s going to be fine if you are using pencil. Also not I have tried any other writing media.
Im now going to opt for a 500 sheet of quality paper and find a copperplate template online (or just photocopy pages from this booklet, if I’m stuck with it) and just print my own sheets as needed.

This is great I have just started learning Calligraphy and couldn’t work out the slant, but this paper has the slant guide lines that really help

The paper that this pad is made of is very absorbant, making it useless to use with any kind of free flowing ink pen, fountain, dip pen or otherwise.
by Inky Fingers
The lines that are there, are easy to use, however further lines would make it even more helpful to the absolute beginner like me.
After less than a page, I have decided that calligraphy and I should part ways on good terms, as I just don’t seem to have the hand control for. Probably down to my age lol.
