This is a good book in general, but is not great for self teaching. It covers many of the required basic grammar and uses many tools to help the user understand the concepts. However I believe the book is lacking in some areas; notably:
1. The book is not grammar based. The small grammar notes are not good enough to explain complex ideas.
2. The user can be left puzzled and confused due to a lack of explanation
3. Many typos and mistakes within the book
4. The book is not structured well, can be confusing
