The audio files are very useful for self-directed playing of these pieces. I am a novice pianist.

Liked the clear print, but would be better spiral bound as the book does not stay open. Few indications of tempo, crescendos etc. and the audio helps nothing in this respect as it sounds like it’s played by a computer. All said, very happy with my purchase as it contains many essential tunes for an advanced beginner.

This is a lovely book. Not too difficult but with some stretch in places. An enjoyable book to sight-read with well-known classics and large print to read the music in comfort. Happy with my purchase.

This book is a good starting place for players who can already play and want to tackle some classics but are not at that level yet. Some of the pieces are very well done and are a joy to play. I didn’t like a few but you can’t like everything! Would have been better ring bound for easier turning of the pages. Overall a good book for learners up to an intermediate level.

This book makes a good follow-on from “Primo Piano” from the same publisher: if you have worked your way through that selection of graded pieces which increase in complexity, you are probably ready to tackle this book. There’s a very comprehensive selection of composers and styles. A good way in is to try the pieces that appeared in simpler form in “Primo Piano”, such as “The Entertainer”, “La Donna è mobile” etc. Some of the pieces are very challenging if you are trying to teach yourself: if you can tackle these pieces with a piano teacher, so much the better. If like me you are a bit daunted when faced with a page of black chords and dots, the downloadable audio files come in very handy when trying to sight read some of the more complicated pieces.

I’ve enjoyed so many new intermediate pieces from this book. Its been produced with such care that you feel able to try each piece and know you will be able to play it properly. Many piano books have few pieces in but this book is generous so I will be playing from it for months. The pages are clearly laid out and it’s a pleasure to use. I’ve only just tried the free audio files and they are a welcome addition to help me improve. This is the best book I’ve bought for years and its made me want to review it to encourage others.

manuscript is printed clearly great to use.
