The book has easy, practical instructions that a complete beginner like me can understand. Having hours of fun with it. A little gem of a book.

To get ideas and help in sketching as well as using it as a reference book. Not a new book but in excellent condition. Very pleased with it.

It’s never too late to learn! I always loved the idea of drawing but struggled to achieve any accuracy and the idea of perspective and foreshortening of the human body floored me completely. After purchasing this book my drawing has improved in leaps and bounds. I found the step-by-step approach suited me and it was written in a very understandable way. There are 2 or 3 drawings on every page broken up with a few paragraphs of explanatory text and exercises. The significant turning point for my drawing came in learning how to measure and looking at shapes of negative space. This book covers a huge range from still life, landscapes, composition and creating depth; the human form and its poses, balance and proportion and a section on facial expression and gestures. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to start, or to improve their drawing skills. I am sure I will have this book by me for some time to come and keep repeating and improving my skills.

I already had this book but promised it to one of my granddaughters. On giving it away I flicked through it and realised what a good book it was so ordered another one for myself again.
