This is a very practical and accessible introduction to critical thinking. You’ll need more if you’re off to university or college, but it’s a good place to start.
by Dr Roger A Prentis
This is a really good book – the quality of which is somewhat hampered by the “for dummies” title in my view. This is a subject that is critical (sic) and Martin Cohen’s book deals with it in a very good and accessible way. Very well worth the read!

Interesting and funny book wirth lots of information to learn andmany mind games toremembrer some of the most seful methods of this book . But … still have questions !

I consider myself a bit of a ‘dummie’ sometimes, hence why I bought this book, however I feel that this book offers a little too much information for someone who knows very little about the subject (me) and found that a lot of the explanations can be very long winded.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a brilliant book, but whilst reading it I often found myself putting the book down because I had to google certain words which I probably shouldn’t have to do whilst reading a ‘for dummies’ book. I don’t feel that the book is aimed at complete novices.
Overall though, a very useful book.

Could have been better. Lots of useful information about critical thinking but less information about methods of argument analysis and other similar areas
by Paul Hickman
A handy reference point for the subject and a book to refer to again and again as a checklist when writing reports, essays and structuring presentations. A great handrail to use as a checklist.

I found this to be entertaining as well as informative. The author writes clearly and has an easygoing informal style which helped make the weighty subject that much more accessible. Would recommend.
