Omg omg. This series is literally ripping my heart out and stealing my breath. This is the 5th book in the Hidden Valley Elite Series and you most definately need to read every book in order. Trust me you won’t regret it.
Well where to start with this book. We are back with Aspen and Phoenix. Things for this couple was never going to be easy. When a one night stand turns into Aspen falling pregnant the couple have a lot of stuff to deal with. Add to that dysfunctional families on both sides, starting a new college, Phoenix’s dreams of joining the NFL and Aspen’s dreams and goals. Neither of them wanted to add a kid into the mix but that’s what’s going to happen.
The chemistry and sexual attraction between them is off the charts however Phoenix is hiding secrets which means that the sexual chemistry turns into rage and anger towards each other. How are they going to cope raising a child when everytime they are together they argue and fight.
There is no denying the connection and attraction they feel for each other if only they would stop being so stubborn and just admit it.
This story is full of drama and angst and conflict and OMG the cliff hanger at the end. I literally am holding my breath for the next installment of this series.

After reading the novella I was eager to find out more and finished this rather quickly. This is an angsty, gritty story full of drama, secret, tension and twists. I couldn’t put this down ans finished it rather quickly
Love Aspen- she’s a strong and capable character who knows her mind. Phoenix is driven by ambition and determination but wants to do right by Aspen. Their story is messy and gritty and they don’t always make the right decisions. Love the side characters and the mystery they bring to the story.
That ending had me raging! Arghhh! I nearly threw my kindle across the room. Can’t believe the author left us hanging! Looking Forward to the next book in this duet.

Deserving of 5 stars, Be prepared for a book hangover as it is impossible to put aside for long.
Phoenix and Aspen’s relationship continues to be a rollercoaster with emotions running high.
Can Phenonix do as his grandfather asks and go against his sense of worth, and can Aspen manage to juggle school, work and the pregnancy whilst battling her hot and cold attachment to Phoenix, and what is his twin up to.
I am stunned by the ending and really really cannot wait for the continuation.

This is the fifth book in this incredible series, and the first part of a duet about Pheonix and Aspen. Phoenix is a QB football star, who has just started college football with his brother and cousins. Aspen is focused on her own dream with her sister, while she designs surfboards, and her sister the surf clothing, and neither want a relationship. Phoenix and Aspen butt heads and bicker as soon as they are in the same room, but they agree to a fake relationship which will mutually benefit them both, to keep the girls away from him, and her parents off her back. What happens when a surprise pregnancy is thrown into the mix? I cannot wait to read the next book!
This is a well written action-packed emotional roller coaster, with family, friendships, enemies / lovers, humor, witty banter, bullying, suspense, surprise pregnancy, angst, bickering, and romance, which leads to an entertaining, tragic, unpredictable, and steamy addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Cruel Hate is the 5th book in the Hidden Valley Elite series by Isla Vaughn and the 2nd book in Aspen and Phoenix’s story, talk about a cliffhanger!! I need to know what is going to happen next! Aspen is coming to terms with being pregnant by the campus hero and Phoenix is struggling with every aspect of college life, keeping up with school, football, family and now becoming a father. When it all gets a bit too much Phoenix makes some life-changing decisions. I have loved this series so far, I cannot wait for the next installment to find out what happens.

After reading the prequel to Aspen and Phoenix’s story and it ending in that cliff-hanger I couldn’t wait to start on their full length duet and what a first part this was. This book certainly kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way through the story with so much drama and angst going on with our main characters. Although Aspen’s initial plan didn’t really work out all that well I really came to admire her integrity and how she wanted to raise her child in a completely different way to how she had been raised. Phoenix’s character also really evolved over the story and it was great to watch them both grow but that ending! I literally cannot wait to get started on the second part of their story!
