Cruel Love: A Dark College Sports Romance (Hidden Valley Elite Book 6)
£3.70
He broke me, and then put me together again.
Our future? It’s worth fighting for.
Or it was before the accident.
The accident stole Phoenix from me. Now, he’s nice… kind even. But the memory of me—of our baby—is gone. Despite everything, I’m left fighting for our child and the man I’ve come to love.
How much will I have to sacrifice to bring him back? What happens when secrets buried deep in the past burst into the present? Do we have a chance? Or is it inevitable that history repeats itself and we’re forced to go our separate ways?
Cruel Love is an enemies-to-lovers, fake relationship, new adult, sports, bully romance with pregnancy, plenty of angst, heat, and a HEA. This is the conclusion of Cruel Hate, and Aspen and Phoenix’s duet. This book contains mature content that some readers may find disturbing.

Picks up from the events of book five (cruel hate) and can’t be read on its own. Oh I wasn’t expecting that twist with Isla and Phoenix. There is some angst and drama as Isla and Phoenix come to terms with what’s happened and to try and salvage their relationship. There are some sweet moments and I love the side characters too, they provide some depth to the overall story. Ends on a cliffhanger… wasn’t expecting it but then in a way this whole series has been a continuous story i coming different characters is was sort of expecting it!
Can’t wait to see what happens in the next book

I cannot speak highly enough about this book. We continue in from the cliffhanger of the previous book that leaves you aching to know what happens next. You are not so much lured into this book but dropped into it with all the emotion that you left book 2 with.
We continue to follow Aspen as she now needs to navigate the world with the unknown added suspense of Phenoix’s post accident memory issues.
The family business is brought to the front and ultimatums are issued.
Love, loss, threats, family and friendship are all wrapped up in this story.
Again another well deserved 5 stars. And an author on my list to read more from.

This is the 6th book in this phenomenal series, and the conclusion of Phoenix and Aspen’s duet, and this story continues straight on from the cliffhanger, from where Cruel Hate ended. Phoenix has no memory of Aspen or their baby, and his accident has brought out another side of Phoenix which shines brightly. Phoenix and Aspen both struggle with the unknown in their relationship as it stands.
This is a well written emotional roller coaster, which is an enemies / lover’s story, with sacrifices, angst, secrets, challenges, second chances, and love, which leads to an entertaining, tragic, unpredictable, and steamy addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Cruel Love is the 6th book in the Hidden Valley Elite series by Isla Vaughn, this series just keeps getting better. This book picks up directly after the previous one so these so need to be read in order (or it will make no sense). At the end of book 5 Phoenix and Aspen were in a catastrophic car crash, while she is unconscious after being accidentally punched while pregnant, ending on a cliff hanger. This book starts in the aftermath of the accident. I do not want to give any spoilers but Phoenix is not the same man he was previously. I really enjoyed Phoenix and Aspens story, he was my favourite out of the 4 main male characters, so I am glad to finally see his sorry being told. I am really looking forward to reading Shane’s story next.

Before I even start with this review you must read the first two books, Cruel Start and Cruel Hate before even thinking about reading this book!
So where to even start with this one, the last book ended on that intense cliff-hanger which meant I couldn’t wait to start this one and boy did it grab me and carry me off for its entirety! It so difficult to do this book justice in this review without spoiling it and I absolutely would not want to do that to any reader. The chemistry is still there between the two characters but there also this new deeper emotional journey throughout the book that really does grab you.
I absolutely loved this book from beginning to end and cannot recommend the three books about this couple enough!

Ok where to start with this review. This author has blown my mind time and time again. This is book 6 in the Hidden Valley Elite and yes you most definately have to read them in order. This series is amazing as we follow 4 guys, Cole, Damon, Phoenix and Shane as they fight to fulfill their dreams of joining the NFL why tackling problems and issues in their personal lifes. Every one of them is flawed and damaged in some way but the love of a good woman changes things.
This is part 2 of Phoenix and Aspens story. The first part was Cruel Hate which left us on a cliff hanger as they were involved in a car accident. Now I don’t want to give anything away so you need to read it to find out if they were OK or what lasting effects accorded because of it.
The character growth in this book is amazing and so beautiful to see as Aspen and Phoenix finally drop their guards and start to let each other in. However
there are so many secrets and lies to uncover and unravel in this story. The road to Phoenix and Aspen’s HEA isn’t going to be easy especially when there is a force against them plotting to destroy them.
Honestly this series is just captivating. I was holding my breath for this book and I wasn’t let down. And yet again we are left with a cliff hanger of an ending.
Now I want to know what is happening with the final guy Shane. I can’t wait to carry on with this series.
