Daisy Haites: Book 2 (Original Cover Collection) (Magnolia Parks Universe)

£11.40£12.30 (-7%)

All 20-year-old Daisy Haites has ever wanted is a normal life, but as the heiress to London’s most notorious criminal empire, it’s just not on the cards for her.

Raised by her older brother Julian since their parents were murdered, Daisy has never been able to escape the watchful gaze of her gang-lord brother. But Julian’s line of work means that Daisy’s life is… complicated.

And things don’t become any easier when she falls hard for the beautiful and emotionally unavailable Christian Hemmes, who also happens to be one of the few men in London who doesn’t answer to Julian.

Christian’s life is no walk in the park either, since he’s in love with his best friend’s girlfriend, Magnolia Parks.

He’s happy enough to use Daisy to throw off the scent of his true affections – until she starts to infiltrate those too.

As their romance blossoms into something neither were anticipating, Daisy, Christian, and Julian must come to terms with the fact that in this life everything comes at a price. As their relationships intersect and tangle, they all learn that sometimes life’s most worthwhile pursuits can only be paid in blood.

4.75 stars – I am emotionally unwell! Daisy’s story was always going to be more up my street but I didn’t expect to be destroyed like this </3 Loved almost every second, devoured this even more than book 1. And thankfully whilst it is as addictive, it’s less toxic. Let’s be honest, these characters all still need (more) therapy but this was much better in that sense.

Daisy <3 My sweet, poor Daisy, I felt for her so much. Her and Christian together are so good, like genuinely so good – easy, effortless, natural type of love. I love them together, there were so many soft, sweet, romantic moments (I was just tabbing obsessively) and I mean how could you not fall in love with them. Like come on! The driving lessons, that date, the way he was protective even when he knew she didn’t need it! Christian is so obviously in love with Daisy, even before he realises it and it’s so cute!! I hate their ending but it could’ve been worse. I just need them happy and together, somewhere out in the country in peace together.

Obviously they have their drama which honestly really could have been dealt with if they just talked to each other! Just be honest and upfront and ask!! Why do you have to keep in this cycle of hurt when you could be brave and put your cards on the table. Also why does everyone in this world have to react immediately and impulsively by sleeping with someone – what is wrong with some good old fashioned crying in your bed. Like have your much needed cry and mope and then talk about things instead of this awful cycle of assuming, reacting and hurting each other. These two are nowhere near as bad as Magnolia & BJ, but still.

Julian, my heart hurts for him!!!< I need him to be ok, for everything to work out and for him to only forever be safe and happy. Anything else is unacceptable and I’m very scared for the next books. I’m way too attached to him to be safe let’s be honest. He is the best brother, totally the best dad; just the way he is with Daisy and all the things in their childhood had me so soft. He cares for her more than anything and she really is his last tether. Just want to give younger them the biggest hugs. I don’t know why he is falling or doing the things he is but all I want is for him to be ok. Also, interesting who is he texting? My heart wants to say Bridget but I don’t believe that really.

Also while I liked Tom in book 1, I just didn’t love Romeo. Their history and their love is undeniable but I cannot for the life of me understand his actions. Oh you love her so much but you turn around and do THAT because she didn’t say yes to your stupid plan. And then continue to do so for years??? That’s how you treat the love of your life? It was giving very much Sir Criston Cole from House of The Dragon, insecure reactive man-child.

Magnolia is so bloody annoying, it was ok in her POV but god even from Christian’s (who’s one of her oldest friends) is she so unbelievably unlikeable. Man eater, just generally self absorbed and obsessed with male attention – she’s so vapid as well. I don’t believe she genuinely cannot be that ignorant of how she treats people. This book just made me dislike her so much.

Bury me with this book. I adore it with my entire soul. Julian is the love of my life. Daisy is a total badass queen. Christian has completely changed my mind from the first book. He is innocent and I love him. Then Christian and Daisy together are my favourite couple they are endgame in my heart. Then Julian and Daisy, sibling/paternal relationship is my favourite of all time! I love these three more than I thought possible. They ended up ripping my heart out and stabbing it a thousand times but I’ll forgive them if they can give it back…

Just everything about it, the relationships, the plot EVERYTHING was so good! So much tension and angst and fire! Everything was so detailed and I loved that! I’m obsessed with this world and these people!

    ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
I thought I wouldn’t love this one as much as Magnolia Parks, because I hate books about gangs and that rubbish, and I was right about that but I did still love it. And I especially loved being back in this universe. There was way too much of the gang element in this book though and I wanted more romance, but the ending still managed to break me (just not as severely as the ending of Magnolia).

The bonus chapter at the end was the best of the whole book ????

When I saw footnotes throughout the first chapter, I did worry I was going to get distracted from the main story a lot but actually, we get Julian and Christian’s perspectives as well in this and they come without footnotes, phew!

I am not a Daisy girly I’m afraid, I’m definitely Team Magnolia and BJ. Christian was the only character I liked out of the three in this book; I thought I’d love Daisy as she’s the smart, sexy Doctor but I just didn’t resonate with her. And Julian is just an idiot ???? Bad boys do nothing for me.

I’m so looking forward to getting back to BJ and Magnolia in the next book!

I read this straight after finishing Magnolia Parks #1 and I didn’t think I’d like this one as much but ended up liking it even more! Wasn’t looking forward to reading Daisy’s story too much after the brief introduction in the 1st book but her storyline is so much more interesting! Christian bb you deserve better ????????

I adored the chaos and emotion of book 1. This appealed to me less so. I found it dragged a bit and caused me to lose connection with the characters. I’ve never seen so many characters use sex as a weapon and yet the stories are surprisingly PG.

I wasn’t quite prepared for the ending of the book. And that one chapter/epilogue to immediately force me back in to the Magnolia Parks rollercoaster. Going to have to immediately start book 3.

Si, overall still a very good story. I enjoyed it. It was just more serious but less emotional than the first.

I really loved this book which surprised me as I wasn’t as invested in the first book though I loved both Christian and daisy and found their characters to be both lovable and very well thought through would 100% recommend.
